CHAPTER 75 The Game Begins

  Cavin's POV

I pushed the door to my room open, the faint creak of the hinges breaking the silence. The night hung heavy, the weight of my thoughts pressing against my chest. Eliza's scent still lingered on my clothes, sweet and intoxicating. I smirked to myself, thinking about the way she blushed earlier. Her promises were mine now, just as she was.

The soft click of the door behind me was followed by the sound of deliberate footsteps. My eyes darted toward the shadow moving into the room. David.

I raised an eyebrow at his unexpected appearance, leaning casually against the bedpost. "To what do I owe this late-night visit, David?" I asked smoothly, my voice laced with feigned amusement.

David's glare could have burned a hole through the floor. He didn't waste time with pleasantries, stepping forward with a clenched jaw. "I'm here to make sure you know your place," he growled.

I chuckled, the sound low and deliberate. "And where would that be exactly?"
