[Chapter 43]
(GARNETT'S POV)
It was exactly 7 PM when I stepped out of the restaurant and saw George waiting for me. Until now, I had no idea how to tell him about me and Raven.
"How was work?" he asked me.
I smiled at him.
"It was okay. How about you?"
"Hmm, tiring, but that all went away when I saw you."
I couldn't help but smile. He always had a way with words. M-Maybe this is one of the things I'll miss about him.
"Shall we go? I'm sure Joji is waiting for us."
I nodded and smiled.
After that…
As we walked, silence filled the space between us. I couldn't help but feel the pain creeping in—I didn't know if I should tell him now or wait.
But the longer I waited, the more he would hope.
B-But I also didn't want to hurt him…
"You know… every time I see you, my eyes always land on that necklace you're wearing. Whenever I see it on you, I feel happy because it reminds me that you still trust me… that you're still willing to wait for me until you graduate."
