I suddenly froze...

He was standing not too far away, just watching us.

I quickly stood up.

“G-George...”

He looked down and turned away.

“W-Wait, George!” I immediately ran toward him and grabbed his arm.

Tears welled up in my eyes... H-He found out everything by accident.

“Why are you still wearing it?” he asked seriously, avoiding my gaze. He was referring to the necklace I had on.

“G-George, I was going to tell you... I was just waiting for the right time.”

He stepped away, causing me to let go of him. He turned to face me, looking deep into my eyes. His gaze was painful, his eyes brimming with tears.

“T-This is funny... It’s so funny...” He let out a broken laugh as tears streamed down his cheeks. I couldn’t hold back my own tears either.

He kept forcing a laugh while crying—it hurt. It hurt so much.

“S-So you and Raven are back together. You’re okay now... I-I guess I don’t need to hope or wait anymore.”
