Chapter 66: "The Aftermath of Waifu Island: Too Many Waifus, Not Enough Sanity"

The scene opened on pure chaos.

Kazuya sat on a rock near the beach, his face buried in his hands. Behind him, dozens of Sylvara, Nerissa, and Aurelia clones ran around the camp, arguing over who was the "true waifu" and causing general mayhem.

One of the Sylvaras marched up to him, hands on her hips. "Kazuya! You haven't eaten the bento I made for you!"

Another Sylvara shoved her aside. "No! I made him my bento first! You're an imposter!"

"Excuse me," a third Sylvara cut in, flipping her hair dramatically. "But everyone knows I'm the original."

Fergus lounged on a hammock, watching the chaos with a giant grin on his face. "Bro, you're living the dream. This is peak anime protagonist energy right here."

Kazuya groaned. "Fergus, this is not a dream. This is a nightmare. There are too many waifus!"

"Blasphemy!" Fergus gasped, clutching his chest like Kazuya had stabbed him.

The Real Sylvara Has Had Enough

The actual Sylvara stood at the edge of the beach, arms crossed, watching her clones with a deadly glare.

"Enough!" she finally snapped. Her voice echoed across the beach, and the clones froze in place.

Kazuya looked up, relieved. "Thank the gods."

Sylvara marched toward the crowd of clones, summoning a glowing magical circle in the sand. "I'm going to dispel this mess right now."

One of the clones stepped forward, looking nervous. "Wait, wait! Before you do that… can I at least get a kiss from Master Kazuya?"

Sylvara's eye twitched. "Absolutely not."

The clone pouted. "What about a hug?"

"No."

"Hand-holding?"

"Absolutely not."

Another clone piped up. "What if we promise to behave? We'll be good waifus, I swear!"

Sylvara's patience was gone. She raised her staff, magical energy crackling in the air. "Say goodbye, ladies."

In a flash of light, the clones vanished, leaving behind only the original group.

The Curse Isn't Fully Broken

Just when they thought it was over, a puff of smoke appeared, and the Hidden Waifu goddess from the temple materialized in front of them.

"Did you really think it would be that easy?" she teased, twirling a strand of her hair. "The wish you made has lingering consequences."

Kazuya groaned. "Of course it does."

The goddess giggled. "The clones may be gone, but their influence remains. You've awakened something deep within your party… hidden feelings."

Fergus's eyes sparkled. "Hidden feelings? Like… romantic tension?!"

The goddess winked. "Exactly."

Kazuya turned to Sylvara. "Do you feel any different?"

Sylvara rolled her eyes. "No, I'm exactly the same. But if you keep asking me annoying questions, I might develop feelings of irritation."

 Nerissa's Confession (Sort Of)

Later that evening, the group gathered around a campfire. The atmosphere was oddly quiet, as if everyone was lost in their thoughts.

Nerissa broke the silence. "So… that was a weird day."

Kazuya chuckled. "Yeah. Definitely one for the record books."

There was a pause before Nerissa spoke again. "You know… I wouldn't mind if one of those clones had stuck around."

Kazuya blinked. "Wait. What?"

Nerissa smirked, her gaze flickering to the fire. "I mean, just saying. It's not every day you get to see yourself as a waifu."

Fergus laughed. "Honestly, I thought the clones were great. I mean, who wouldn't want a harem of themselves?"

Sylvara shot him a withering look. "No one sane."

 The Boat Ride Back

The next morning, the group boarded their boat to leave Waifu Island behind. Fergus stood at the helm, striking a dramatic pose.

"Goodbye, Waifu Island! You'll forever hold a special place in our hearts!"

Kazuya sighed. "Can we just focus on getting home without any more weirdness?"

As if on cue, a giant chicken burst out of the jungle, chasing after the boat.

Sylvara groaned. "Not again…"

Nerissa grabbed the oars. "Row faster!"

"Why is it always chickens?!" Kazuya yelled, frantically rowing.

The chicken squawked angrily, flapping its wings as it waded into the water.

Fergus grinned. "I knew it! The Chicken Clan never forgets!"

The Curse of Waifu Island Lives On

Once they were safely away from the island, Kazuya finally allowed himself to relax. He leaned back in the boat, enjoying the sea breeze.

But just as he closed his eyes, he felt a pair of arms wrap around his shoulders.

His eyes snapped open to see Sylvara resting her head on his shoulder.

"W-What are you doing?" he stammered.

Sylvara shrugged. "The goddess said there were lingering consequences. Maybe this is one of them."

Kazuya blushed furiously. "You don't have to—"

"Oh, hush." Sylvara smirked. "Enjoy it while it lasts."

From the other side of the boat, Nerissa glared at them. "Hey! No fair! I want in on this too!"

Fergus burst out laughing. "Looks like your harem is still growing, Kazuya!"

Kazuya buried his face in his hands. "Why is this my life?!"
