"Ugh," Adam groaned as he awoke from his long sleep.
He had no idea how long he had been unconscious. The last thing he remembered was talking to that unknown voice before losing consciousness.
The first thing he felt upon waking was an uncomfortable itch in his eyes.
He tried blinking to relieve it, but as he began to open them, he noticed something he would never forget.
"What is this?"
Something was breaking through the usual darkness. It was something completely different.
Is this what they call light? Adam wondered, his eyes still adjusting to the new sensation.
"But how?" he asked aloud. The last time he was conscious, he had been on the brink of death. And now… he had regained his sight. Had that voice had anything to do with it?
A presence approached upon hearing his voice.
"Adam!"
He immediately recognized Selene's sweet voice.
Remembering what had happened, Adam quickly turned to make sure Selene was okay.
He opened his eyes with difficulty, his vision still blurry, but enough to see the world for the first time in his life.
However, none of that mattered. His attention immediately focused on Selene. He had always imagined this moment, but reality far exceeded any expectations.
In front of him stood a woman whose beauty could topple empires. Her athletic body had pronounced curves, her long violet hair floated freely, and her full lips looked tempting enough to seduce any man. But what truly captivated Adam were her green eyes, gazing at him with unmistakable affection.
"Beautiful," he whispered unconsciously.
Selene blushed upon hearing him, but there was something more important to discuss at that moment.
"Y-Your eyes..." she stammered, afraid to get her hopes up for nothing.
"Yes," Adam responded, tears of joy welling up. He had waited for this moment for far too long.
Unable to contain her repressed emotions, Selene threw herself into his arms without warning.
Adam was startled. He hadn't expected Selene to be so forward.
"I thought you were dead..." she whispered, burying her face in his chest.
Adam felt the dampness spreading through his clothes. Without thinking, he brought a hand to her head and gently stroked her soft hair, conveying a sense of calm.
"I couldn't leave you alone," Adam murmured.
"You know... at that moment, I regretted many things. But do you know what was the worst?"
Adam looked at her attentively.
"The worst was realizing that I love you... and thinking that I would never be able to tell you," Selene confessed, lifting her gaze, her heart pounding.
Her sudden confession caught Adam completely off guard. Did he like Selene?
Hell, yes.
He had been in love with her for a long time, but he had always believed she didn't see him as a man. That belief had driven him to become stronger, hoping to change the way she perceived him.
But seeing Selene's anxious and timid expression, along with her deep blush, he stopped thinking. He had been too passive for too long. He had a unique opportunity before him, and he wasn't going to let it slip away.
Without a word, he cupped her chin and kissed her softly on the lips, conveying all the emotions he had kept bottled up. Words were unnecessary.
Selene could have pulled away, but doing so would have been lying to herself. So she simply closed her eyes and let Adam take the lead.
It was their first kiss, making them both clumsy. Their teeth clashed several times, but that didn't stop Adam. With determination, he explored Selene's lips eagerly.
She tried to match his pace, but Adam was like a starving beast, nibbling and licking her lips without giving her a moment to breathe. Fortunately, thanks to her high cultivation, she didn't need to.
Adam's hands roamed her body. One ended up on her chest, while the other slid down to her waist, feeling her curves.
"Hmmm~, Adam... don't be naughty..." Selene moaned under his touch.
That tone only fueled the fire inside Adam. Following his instincts, he slipped his tongue into Selene's mouth, deepening the kiss.
Selene felt the unexpected intrusion and tried to push back with her own tongue, but it was no use. She simply surrendered, letting him explore every corner of her mouth.
"Slurp."
The sound of their kisses and ragged breaths was the only thing that filled the room.
Their intimate moment continued for a few minutes until Adam broke the kiss, leaving a thin strand of saliva between their lips.
"I love you too, Selene."
Overwhelmed with embarrassment and happiness, Selene hid her face in his chest.
Adam would have loved to continue, but he didn't want to rush things. This wasn't the time or place.
Selene was still dazed. She couldn't believe that something so simple could feel so pleasurable.
"We have some things to talk about," Adam said, enjoying her reactions. The thought that his master, a superior existence, was now squirming in his arms was something he had never imagined.
"Y-Yeah..." Selene responded shakily. Now that Adam could see her, all the confidence she had completely vanished.
Adam couldn't get enough of Selene, but there were more pressing matters to discuss. He still didn't know how they had survived.
Selene settled into his lap and recounted everything that had happened. Adam only had to connect the dots to understand what had taken place.
Who is the owner of that voice? And why would they help me?
He had no answers, but he had a feeling they would meet again.
"Adam... your eyes..." Selene seemed to want to tell him something.
"What about my eyes?"
"You'd better see for yourself."
Selene conjured water, using it as a mirror.
Adam looked at his reflection and was left speechless.
In the image was a man of otherworldly beauty. He stood around six feet tall, with long white hair. His blue eyes glowed intensely, but the most striking feature was the golden figure within them: a triangle with a rune at its peak, its meaning unknown.
Adam frowned. He had never seen other eyes besides Selene's, but he had studied human anatomy and knew they weren't supposed to look like that.
"I have a theory that you awakened some kind of unique physique… though I've never heard of one like this before."
"But that's not the only surprise," Selene added with a mysterious smile.
