Supreme eyes

"But that's not the only surprise," Selene added with a mysterious smile. "Try to sense your dantian."

Adam raised an eyebrow. He had never been able to feel it since it wasn't fully developed, but following Selene's words, he tried.

The result was unexpected. Not only could he sense his dantian, but he also noticed a vast amount of qi within it.

"It's just as you think. You can cultivate now. And not only that, but you have also officially stepped onto the path of cultivation."

Selene hadn't believed it the first time she saw it either, but the reality was undeniable: Adam had reached the lower elemental stage without even using a cultivation technique. It was unheard of.

Listening to Selene's words, Adam sat in a lotus position and tried to gather qi from the environment. A vortex of energy quickly formed around him.

Selene raised an eyebrow at this sight. Cultivating without a proper technique could be suicide for any cultivator, but Adam had already been doing it even before officially becoming one, so he shouldn't have any problems. Moreover, his speed was anything but normal. To match that pace, he would need at least a heaven-grade cultivation technique.

Although Selene possessed several cultivation techniques, some even surpassing the heaven grade, she wasn't sure if they were compatible with Adam.

Unaware of Selene's thoughts, Adam continued gathering qi. It rapidly entered his dantian, but there was no significant difference until several minutes passed.

"This is strange," Selene said. "The amount of qi you've absorbed should be enough to reach the next stage, but it seems you're still halfway there. Could it be due to your physique?"

It was common knowledge: the stronger the physique, the more qi was needed for cultivation. However, with Adam's incredible absorption speed, it shouldn't take him too long, even if he required ten times more qi.

As Adam continued absorbing energy, he recalled what Selene had taught him about cultivation. The elemental stage was the beginning of the journey; it only provided a noticeable physical enhancement and allowed the use of body techniques.

There were three types of spiritual techniques:

Body techniques, which enhanced physical abilities or used qi for attacks that didn't require external control.

Profound spiritual techniques, which involved manipulating qi outside the body.

3. Soul techniques, which were extremely mysterious and rarely accessible, even in the immortal plane. An example was curses, which was why experts in them were highly valued.

Spiritual techniques were classified into grades, and each grade was divided into three levels: low, medium, and high.

The grades usually corresponded to various cultivation stages:

Black grade → Elemental stage, Profound stage, Master stage.

Earth grade → Grandmaster stage, Lord stage, King stage.

Heaven grade → Emperor stage, Tyrant stage.

Each level matched a stage, except for heaven-grade techniques. For example, a cultivator in the lower elemental stage could only learn a low-level black-grade spiritual technique, while a cultivator in the master stage could learn a high-level black-grade technique.

Cultivation techniques followed the same classification, although they could be learned and used regardless of one's cultivation level.

A couple more hours passed. Adam, absorbed in his cultivation, continued tirelessly until...

Suddenly, the qi around him calmed, and a strange aura emanated from him. It was an aura that conveyed peace and wisdom.

"I-is he having an enlightenment?"

Selene couldn't believe it. He had barely begun cultivating, and he was already experiencing his first enlightenment. Many died without ever having one, and she herself had only experienced it once before.

But something was odd. Normally, enlightenment occurred when someone was trying to understand something profound. Why would Adam enter that state while simply cultivating? She could only wait and ask him later.

Inside Adam's Mind

Adam opened his eyes. He was no longer in the room.

An immense prairie stretched to the horizon.

"Where am I?" he asked himself.

"This is your inner world," a familiar voice echoed behind him.

Adam quickly turned and saw the owner of the voice.

It was an elderly man with short, white hair, aged by time. Although he looked frail, his aura carried the presence of an expert.

"Who are you? And what is an inner world?"

"I am merely a humble guide. As for your second question, this is a world that resides within you, courtesy of your physique."

"My physique? Do you know something?" Adam asked, doubting he was just a guide.

"Let me show you," the old man said, placing his index finger on Adam's forehead.

Information began to flow into Adam's mind.

"Supreme Eyes."

At last, he learned the name of his unique physique.

According to the information he received, it was an unparalleled physique, whose only known wielder in history had once made the heavens tremble.

The problem was that its power would grow alongside him, meaning he had to cultivate to the highest level to unlock its full potential.

As for the abilities granted by his eyes, most of his physique's power resided in the ability to use Primordial Runes. He didn't yet understand what they were, but from their name, he could infer they were incredibly powerful.

For now, he had only grasped the meaning of the rune he currently possessed. It meant "future." He would have to figure out how to use it later.

Although that was not the only thing his physique granted him, many aspects were still unclear in his mind. He needed to become stronger to access them. His inner world and the ability to cultivate without a technique were just some of those abilities. It wasn't called an unparalleled physique without reason.

"Why me?" Adam asked. He wasn't anyone special, nor did he come from a powerful family. In the grand scheme of things, he was just another ordinary person.

"You were chosen by the physique. The reasons are unknown to me. As I said, I am just a simple guide."

Adam frowned. He didn't like being deceived.

"You must go now. They are waiting for you. Keep cultivating, and we will meet again," the voice said.

Suddenly, his vision darkened.

When he opened his eyes, he was back in the room.
