White Eyed Angel [2]

Governor Elias had enjoyed this day. General Coek had sent many people to his town to help him improve the living situation so he could relax after years of making this city somewhat better than most parts of this region of the Empire.

However, his joy didn't last long as he heard a massive explosion in the distance.

He rose from his chair as he approached his office window. His massive red tail swung wildly from the worry.

He closed his eyes as he took a deep sigh.

Why was trouble always following him?

He opened his green eyes as he heard a hurried knock from the other side.

"We are under attack! A powerful entity is wrecking chaos at the Northern Gate!" The man shouted with worry.

"One entity? Not an army?" He asked how one entity could cause so much chaos.

"Yes, sire! Only one from the reports." The worried voice reached him.

"I am going! Bring me my armor! Send evacuation notice!" He ordered as he approached an ornate chest right under the window, opened it, and retrieved a Large Spear, his favored weapon he wished he didn't have to use ever again.

'Well, if my city has enemies. it is my duty to end that threat. They will learn not to fuck with former general.' He smiled heavily, despite his deep worries.

He brandished his spear, it was a majestic blue and gold despite being created of mighty materials.

He truly hoped he wouldn't have to pick it up ever again, and yet.

"I guess I have no choice." He placed the spear against the wall as he heard his men approaching the office door, bringing his armor.

He slipped into it with haste, he didn't have time.

Each moment he tarried, more of his city would be demolished.

"I am going; stand back." He ordered as he made a mad dash towards the gates.

His men couldn't keep up, and not that he expected them, he was one of the most powerful people in this part of the empire.

While he wasn't as powerful or skilled as General Coek, he had more combat experience and skill than anyone else.

Whatever this being that attacked his city was, it would be destroyed.

However, as he approached the destruction, he saw a single young harpy girl. she had unique white wings, no horns, and eyes as white as fresh snow.

Not only that she had no armor, a testament to Harpy's confidence.

He wouldn't wait for her to continue leveling his city; he crouched and got into position.

His fists clenched as he rushed towards the Harpy, in a moment his fist connected to her he felt like he punched a damn rock, however she was sent flying through multiple buildings.

With a shout he asked her, "Who in the hells are you?!"

Ayil rose from the rubble. In her hand, a new weapon appeared, a longsword made of pure light.

"I am Ayil, Father's Blade and your end." With those words, Harpy charged toward him, weapons clashed before Lizardman was sent tumbling back.

'Shit how is someone that small this powerful!' He dodged the longsword she threw at him.

His instincts screamed at him as the girl appeared behind him with immense speed and swung her weapon, [Greater Fortify].

With a guard up he braced for impact, and good he did.

In a moment, his arm was almost cut off, and his armor was completely shattered.

The Harpy did not wait for him to recover as she swung again, cleanly cutting off his hand.

"Shit!" He ducked, letting the Harpy fly above him.

Despite her power, she relied on raw power, she lacked technique.

He had a chance to at least survive.

As Harpy swung at him, he ducked, using the opportunity to grab her hand and throw her to the floor, making her let go of her weapon.

With a hit, he knocked the girl back before retrieving his spear.

With a charge, he lunged with his spear, attempting to pierce the girl.

And yet he met with what looked like a shield made of silver and light.

In his shock he couldn't dodge a small dagger that appeared in Harpy's other arm, she hit him in his spear arm, severing it cleanly despite the armor.

"This is fun!" Harpy spoke with a smile.

"It was a good idea not to kill you!" She giggled.

Her tone shocked him, she didn't show any signs of fatigue or damage.

No, it was not possible; she was clearly hiding it.

He gripped his spear with his healthy hand as others regenerated. He jumped back as he analyzed ways to beat her.

'I can't... She is too powerful.' He let out a deep sigh; at least he needed to buy time for his citizens to evacuate.

He gritted his teeth as her weapons were replaced by a massive helberd, with a swing he was cut in half.

He gasped as he focused on his [Hyper Regeneration].

In a moment, tendrils of blood connected both of his halves as he regenerated fully.

This was the second time in his life he was cut in half like this... It was never a pleasant experience.

Harpy didn't allow him to get his bearings as she landed a powerful kick, his arms broke from the impact.

Crack~

His regeneration couldn't keep up in the next moment, he found the harpy raising her helberd high above her before swinging it down, threatening to cut him in half.

All the while, she wore the smile of an innocent girl.

His feet buried in the ground before launching himself back.

No matter what he did, she blocked and did heavy damage to his body.

'This is really bad.' His gaze swept over his city, a large part of which was destroyed from massive wind bursts from her missed attacks.

Even if he somehow won, the damage was too massive.

He could only hope that his citizens had time to evacuate.

'I will not die without at least scratching you.' He grinned; he used to wish for a difficult fight, and now he had it.

Unfortunately, it happened when he had so much to lose.

"My name is Elias. Let me formally ask for yours once again!" He spoke with respect.

Despite her being an enemy, one had to show respect to powerful warriors.

The question made her stop for a moment, She tapped her cheek while looking at Elias with confusion, "My name is Ayil, a Principality. Blade of Father. Why does it matter to you, Elias?"

He chuckled for a moment; she was clearly young. "It is a matter of honor to exchange names between warriors."

Ayil nodded. "I see. Perhaps Father would appreciate me honoring such tradition." She smiled.

"If we had met at the battlefield, I would have enjoyed my life ending like this... However..." His gaze swept over the ruins of his city.

"I lost too much, This fight brings me no joy, Ayil." He spoke solemnly as he gripped his spear, his body fully regenerated, however his armor completely shattered.

He had no chance, he knew that Ayil was playing with him.

"I guess I have to do this... Forgive me, Lord Iguva. [Embrace the Madness]!" With the activation of the Apex skill, he had sacrificed his mind, his soul, and his whole identity, in exchange, he had gained power beyond his wildest dreams.

Shadow enveloped him his crimson scales were covered in shadow as tendrils of darkness swirled around him.

He screamed in pain as he was taken by a skill he could only ever use once.

Elias was no more, in his place stood being as strong as unnamed Principality.

A Lizardman, scales pulsing shadows themselves and eyes leaving a trail of purple light as he moved with tremendous speed.

"I guess I played around enough." Ayil sighed as she swung her helberd with her full might.
