Council of Divine [2]

To say Fortuna was ecstatic would be a massive understatement.

After what felt like millennia, Chrunus was finally losing it, and for what?

Just because some powerful entities appeared.

Fortuna did not complain, she had worked hard to find a way to overthrow Chrunus.

But despite her best effort, she couldn't see any way to do it.

Until now that was.

'If I could ally with those demi-humans, an alliance to curb the dominance Chrunus had over other gods.' Fortuna's face was taken by a wry smile as she thought of a way to depose the tyrant that was Chrunus.

He had taken everything, he had stolen followers of all other gods despite once working together.

'I am sure they are in need of powerful allies...' She sat in front of her crystal orb.

The orb had many functions when it came to divination. Not only could she observe events happening anywhere in the world, she could also analyze the strength of entities.

Something that not even Chrunus knew about.

She had cleverly hidden that information, letting the tyrant god only know about its function as a diviner.

Her face gained a stern look as her hands flated just above the crystal orb, the image rippled like a stone being thrown over a calm river before stabilizing.

Fortuna was curious about one being in particular.

A being very close to her own power.

It had shown a small silver-haired child, toying with demi-humans like they were nothing.

She had stalked this child for multiple mortal days, seeing her erase demi-human cities like they were nothing but specs of dust.

She was rather impressed; perhaps the entity in the shape of a child was a goddess herself, a goddess that, like Fortuna, avoided being dominated by Chrunus.

However, her abilities did not match any other god she knew of.

An unknown god like her should have been much weaker.

And yet there she was, exercising her great power without fear of Chrunus.

She gazed into the orb. She hadn't had the opportunity to peer into her abilities with Chrunus watching her every step, and yet now she would be able to check out this fascinating goddess.

'Dominion? Not a goddess?' Fortuna placed her hand on the orb as she almost drooled at the sight.

While other Angels were interesting, they were nowhere near Fortuna's level.

But this 'Dominion' was very close.

She would be key to bringing down Chrunus.

Her eyes wandered to the Patron section. Usually, divine beings lacked it however, the Angel had a patron.

'How?!' She stared in disbelief.

Who was this 'Cedric', Fortuna had never heard of an entity with such power and yet under patronage of an even more powerful being.

'I need to figure out who this god is...' Fortuna's fingers clutched around the crystal orb, threatening to break it.

However, despite her wish to descend into mortal world with her avatar she couldn't.

Chrunus had ordered her to gather all the gods.

She had suspected he would send them to die.

She had to stop this.

She would convince them to not fight these Demi-Humans; it was in their benefit that they were destroying the influence of both Chrunus and the so-called Iguva he was so afraid of.

If she could get a hold of this patron of Ariel, perhaps her rebellion would bear fruit.

She hated being subservient.

She hated having to listen to that arrogant asshole.

Seduction didn't work, strength didn't work nothing worked against him.

She offered her whole being just for him to lower the guard, and what did he say to her.

'Begone. You are lucky to keep some of your worshippers.'

Such audacity, Fortuna was a damned goddess of fate and yet she was being treated like nothing.

No she used to be stronger than Chrunus, until suddenly he had gained power eclipsing her own.

How and why, she did not know.

She felt her whole being tremble in anger.

Her teeth buried in her lower lip and yet she did not bleed.

After all, gods had no blood; they were spiritual entities.

Only way for a god to manifest in the world was through their Avatars.

However, when necessity is great, they may descend in their true form.

A true form that would continuously weaken in the mortal world.

A fact that made Fortuna question the existence of the Dominion even more.

That was no Avatar; that was a fully powered goddess in the flesh.

She did not grow weaker nor more fragile.

'Such an interesting girl!' Fortuna let out a wide grin as she stared at her.

It took her a moment to snap back and remember her orders.

Chrunus had said to gather the gods, and she would have no choice but to obey.

The orb disappeared as she shined in bright golden light.

A light that would call upon them all.

Light reached into the empty sky of 'Land of Chalk'.

The divine realm did not look like this before. With the influence of all gods it was truly beautiful, a perfect mirror of mortal world.

And yet now. Chrunus had corrupted it.

Fortuna truly hated him, and so did all the other gods.

And yet, no matter how much they hated him, it did not matter.

"Chrunus will fall..." She muttered.

A soft hum echoed as forms materialized.

The first form to appear was a young and tall girl, she had orange hair and elven features, she wore a green hood with a great bow on her back.

A goddess of Hunt and Nature.

Next was a hooded man, his face obscured by shadow of his comical wizard hat.

And yet despite all gods being called they did not appear.

She couldn't blame them, they were terrified of Chrunus, and yet she knew they needed to arrive if they wished to keep their existance.
