Elias leaned back on his bed, relishing the silence that enveloped his room. After the chaos earlier, he finally felt at peace. The run-in with Prince Aedric and Lady Selene had been nerve-wracking, but he had managed to escape. Now, he could finally breathe.
"They won't recognize me again," he told himself. "It was just a chance encounter. Nothing more."
His eyes fluttered shut, exhaustion tugging him into slumber.
But just as sleep was about to claim him, a heavy knock on his door startled him awake.
"Who—" Elias began, but the door swung open before he could finish.
Fenrir entered the room, his cloak billowing behind him. His golden eyes gleamed in the dim light, and his expression was one of frustration mixed with amusement.
"You've done it now," Fenrir said, closing the door behind him.
Elias sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "What are you talking about?"
