The energy he burst out made me a little uneasy. I didn't know what was going on, but I was curious to know why he seemed to be in a good mood.


"Yes, Alpha! As soon as I heard you needed me, I left the training ground."


"How's the training going?" he asked, leaning back in the black leather chair behind his desk as he stared nervously at me.


"Very good. The recruits are doing well. If you're free tomorrow, maybe you'd like to come down and have a look. You'll be happy with their progress. "


He looked at me for a moment, and I couldn't help but think that he was playing with something.


"I will, but I called you here for something else," he went on.


So that was the real reason why he summoned me.


I leaned in closer, striving to focus more intently. "What do you need, Alpha?"


Dennis looked at me, seeming to find my reaction amusing. "Relax, will you? I don't need anything."
