It seemed like hours passed when we finally got to the top floor of the building where each of our respective offices was. Daemon took his time lowering his arms from where they were trapped on either side of me, but that didn’t mean that his heat wasn’t left behind. The sweet smell of his breath and the warmth that was still swirling around me left me dizzy as he stepped away from me.
“Well, are you coming, Princess?” he asked with a smirk, holding the door open for me so that it wouldn’t close me inside the small space alone.
It took me much too long to stand up straight from the wall and laugh lightly in an attempt to hide my blushing cheeks. Daemon made no effort to step to the side of the elevator, forcing me to squeeze past him and get another whiff of his manly cologne.
He waited a few beats before following me out of the elevator, suddenly transforming from the teasing Daemon to the intense businessman we all knew, feared, and respected.
