DEER WOMAN

ORIGIN: Native America.

The legend of the Deer Woman is a haunting tale that came from Native American folklore, among the tribes of the Great Plains, the Ojibwe, and the Lakota people.

The Deer woman is a beautiful woman with long, dark hair and a wonderful smile, but beneath her beauty lies a secret— her legs are those of a deer.

In some versions, she can shape-shift completely, transforming from a human into a deer at will.

The Deer Woman is known to appear to men, especially those who are unfaithful, disrespectful, or addicted to drinking and gambling.

She seduces her victims with her beauty and charm, leading them deep into the woods.

Once alone with her victim, she turns to her true form.

Some say she tramples her victims to death with her hooves; others say she leaves them lost and confused, never to be seen again.

However, the Deer Woman is not always so evil.

In some traditions, she serves as a warning spirit, reminding people to honor their commitments and respect nature.
