ORIGIN: New Jersey
The Pine Barrens Wildman is an urban legend that haunts the dense, large forests of the Pine Barrens in New Jersey.
This region is well-known for its other famous urban legend, the Jersey Devil, but story of the Wildman is equally scary and well spoken about among the locals and visitors.
According to the legend, the creature is a large, hairy, human-like one that roams the thick woods, and is often compared to Bigfoot or Sasquatch.
However, the Pine Barrens Wildman is said to be even more aggressive and wicked in nature than Bigfoot.
Witnesses have reported seeing an extremely tall figure, covered in matted, dark hair, with glowing eyes that completely pierce through the darkness.
And it is said to have a foul stench, growling several times per minute.
Hikers and campers have told their stories of being stalked through the woods, hearing heavy footsteps and snapping branches just out of their line of sight.
Some have said they found primitive looking shelters and claw marks on trees, while others talk about their small animals and livestock suddenly disappearing
The Pine Barrens, is such a vast and isolated wilderness that it creates the perfect setting for such a creepy and scary figure.
