Centuries ago,
Zelda sucked in a deep breath.
She thought she was ready but nothing was capable of preparing her for Kamaz’s words. She had waited with held breath and even stilled her heart but it still wasn’t enough. Those words had cut through the joy that had been spiralling in her system.
The joy from every waking moment and every single day for the past two months and more especially, the joy from a few hours back.
‘We are going to have a child together my love. I want you to be there with me, through it all. I can’t do it alone’ She thought within, but not a single reaction from this thought could Kamaz understand.
He urgently took her hands in his, misinterpreting the look on her face.
‘‘I know I wasn’t supposed to leave your side for a year and I-’’
His head dropped as he bit the walls of his cheek. His heart was hurting and tearing.
He didn’t get married to her for him to begin to go to war or to leave her alone.
