"Little ancestor, please, stop this! I'll do whatever you want!"

Before Link could finish speaking, Tahm Kench interrupted him. If this continued, the River King's dignity as the Demon of Greed would be utterly destroyed!

A couple of days ago, rumors had spread through the streets of Bilgewater about a streaker running around. Tahm had even considered tracking the person down to see what they tasted like.

But now, looking at the young man before him and recalling his earlier threats, Tahm didn't dare think further.

If he ended up like that streaker, the terrifying legend of Tahm Kench, the River King, would become a joke.

A huge joke!

The kind that would make people laugh until they died!

No one would fear him anymore. No one would tremble at the sound of his name.

While Tahm didn't particularly care about his reputation—his only concern was filling his belly—the thought of stripping off his coat and running through the streets...

Well, if that happened, every time he appeared in his true form, people would say:

"Call me a demon! Call me a king!"

"The river will drown those forgotten names!"

"Are you Tahm Kench?"

"Yes!"

"The same Tahm Kench who streaked through the streets?"

"Uh..."

"HAHAHAHAHA!"

"Sorry, let me laugh for a bit. You can eat me after I'm done!"

...

Just imagining this scenario made Tahm lose his appetite. No matter how despairing a person was, they'd probably burst out laughing at the sight of him.

The result would be like sprinkling feces on a perfectly cooked meal—utterly disgusting!

"So, you'll do whatever I say?"

Link's voice snapped Tahm out of his thoughts. The demon's face twisted in discomfort as he nodded. "As long as you stop tormenting me, I'll do whatever you want!"

"Weren't you the one who said you'd rather jump into the deepest abyss, bathe in the purest light, or be utterly annihilated than obey me?"

"Uh..."

Tahm's whiskers twitched. He hadn't expected his own words to come back to bite him so quickly.

But the thought of being controlled by this brat was unbearable.

"We can negotiate!"

"Do you really think you're in a position to negotiate?" Link twirled his finger, and Tahm spun in place, helplessly following the motion.

"This..."

Tahm wanted to cry. He truly had no leverage to negotiate.

"If you don't agree, I'll just kill myself!"

Remembering his immortality, Tahm felt a surge of courage. So what if he died a few times? He'd just resurrect, even if it meant losing some power.

Human lives were fleeting—barely a blink in his long existence. Even if this kid lived longer than most, he couldn't possibly outlast Tahm.

As long as humans and their negative emotions existed, Tahm would never truly die.

Just as a sly grin began to form on Tahm's face, Link spoke again.

"Do you know what lies beneath Icathia in Shurima?"

Tahm's expression froze. He did know what was down there.

If there was anything that could make him truly afraid, it was the horrors buried beneath Icathia.

In that place, his immortality meant nothing. Death there would be permanent.

"If you even think about using your immortality to outlast me, I'll send you straight to the depths of Icathia."

"That place connects to another dimension. You know what I'm talking about."

Link leaned in and whispered two words: "The Void."

"The Void doesn't discriminate. It consumes everything."

"Even a demon."

Link's voice was like a death knell in Tahm's ears. The demon felt like slapping himself.

How did this kid know what he was thinking?

As the Demon of Greed, Tahm knew many of the world's secrets, including the Void. The Void War had been a cataclysmic event, and anything that entered the Void was utterly annihilated.

His immortality would mean nothing there.

"Fine, I surrender. I'll give you whatever you want."

Tahm gave in. Link could control him as easily as training a dog. His plan to use his immortality to outlast the kid had failed.

"First, tell me about your abilities. I'll consider how to use them."

Tahm's mouth twitched. Today might be the worst day of his life, but he had no choice.

"I can manipulate human greed and desires. I can also create objects from water that are indistinguishable from the real thing."

Link glanced at the coins on the table. They were just water transformed by Tahm's power. If used correctly, this ability could be like a 3D printer.

"My stomach can connect to any body of water in the world. I can travel anywhere there's a river."

Link raised an eyebrow. That sounded like Tahm's old ultimate ability, Abyssal Voyage. It seemed the real-world version was far more powerful than in the games.

"My stomach can devour anything, as long as I can fit it inside."

Ah, that was his reworked ultimate.

"That's enough."

Link stopped twirling his finger, and Tahm stumbled to a halt, collapsing onto the ground with a relieved sigh.

"Whew, that was exhausting!"

Tahm pretended to wipe sweat from his brow, glancing at Link out of the corner of his eye. Link crossed his arms, smirking.

"To show my mercy, I'll call on you when I need you."

"Thank you, great—"

"But if you're not here within three seconds, be prepared to streak through the busiest streets of the most prosperous cities."

"Understood!"

"Now, finish your dinner. Didn't you say the last member of the Slaughter Gang was reserved for you?"

"Deal with it."

With that, Link turned and left the slaughterhouse. Not only had he completed Sarah's mission, but he'd also acquired a demonic "pet."

Sure, this "pet" was old, ugly, and fat, but with Tahm, Link now had a portable recall button—like the "B" key in a game.

As Mundo would say:

"I go where I please!"

Inside the slaughterhouse, Neeko had transformed into Pride and was staring at him, wide-eyed. She never got tired of this game.

"Let's go, Neeko. Time to head back."

"Coming!"
