Raymond's expression remained skeptical. "I don't know what you're trying to prove, Felix, but I'm not buying it," he said.
Felix's face fell, his excitement deflating. "Ray, come on. You have to see that something is off about Scarlet."
Raymond shook his head. "I've known Scarlet for a long time, Felix. She's a great secretary and a loyal employee. I trust her completely."
Sophia spoke up, trying to mediate. "Ray, maybe we should at least investigate further. Just to be sure."
But Raymond was unmoved. "I don't think that's necessary, Sophia. Felix is just being paranoid."
Felix's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in frustration. "Fine, Ray. But mark my words, you're going to regret not listening to me."
The tension in the room was palpable as Felix stormed out of the office, leaving Raymond and Sophia behind.
Raymond sighed, rubbing his temples. "I don't know what's gotten into Felix lately."
Sophia's expression was thoughtful. "I think Felix is genuinely concerned about something, Ray. Maybe we should at least try to understand where he's coming from."
But Raymond just shook his head. "I know Felix, Sophia. He's just being his usual dramatic self."
Raymond sighed, rubbing his temples. "I don't know what's gotten into Felix lately."
Sophia, his sister, rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "Oh, come on, Ray. You know Felix is just trying to protect you."
Raymond smiled wryly. "I appreciate that, sis. But Felix needs to learn to trust my judgment."
Sophia leaned against the doorframe, a thoughtful expression on her face. "Maybe Felix is just seeing something that we're not, Ray."
Raymond raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about, Sophia?"
Sophia shrugged. "I don't know, exactly. But Felix seems really convinced that something is off about Scarlet. Maybe we should at least listen to what he has to say."
Raymond chuckled. "You're starting to sound like Felix, sis."
Sophia laughed. "Hey, someone has to keep you on your toes, big brother."
The two siblings shared a warm smile, but Raymond's expression soon turned serious again. "I appreciate your concern, Sophia. But I really don't think there's anything to worry about."
As the conversation came to a close, Sophia nodded and headed out of the office, leaving Raymond to his work.
Raymond watched her go, a thoughtful expression on his face. He appreciated his sister's concern, but he was confident that Felix was just being paranoid.
Just then, Scarlet walked into the office, a stack of files in her hand. "Sir, I have the reports you asked for," she said, her voice professional and poised.
Raymond smiled, taking the files from her. "Thanks, Scarlet. You're a lifesaver."
Scarlet smiled back, her eyes sparkling with efficiency. "You're welcome, sir."
As Scarlet turned to leave, Raymond called out to her. "Hey, Scarlet?"
She turned back, a questioning expression on her face. "Yes, sir?"
Raymond smiled. "Just wanted to say thanks again. You're doing a great job."
Scarlet's face lit up with a warm smile. "Thank you, sir. That means a lot coming from you."
As Scarlet walked out of the office, Raymond couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for his secretary. She was efficient, professional, and always on top of things.
But as he watched her go, he couldn't shake the feeling that Felix's words had left on him. Was it possible that Scarlet was hiding something? Raymond pushed the thought aside, telling himself he was just being paranoid.
As the day went on, Raymond found himself unable to focus on his work. His mind kept wandering back to Felix's accusations and the feeling that something was off about Scarlet.
Despite his reservations, Raymond couldn't shake the feeling that Felix was just being paranoid. Scarlet had been an excellent secretary, and he had no reason to doubt her loyalty.
Just as Raymond was starting to relax, his phone buzzed with an incoming call from Felix.
"Ray, I've been doing some digging," Felix said, his voice low and serious. "And I think I've found something."
Raymond's heart sank, his mind racing with possibilities. "What is it?" he asked, trying to keep his voice neutral.
"I'd rather not discuss it over the phone," Felix said. "Can we meet up somewhere?"
Raymond hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of him wanted to ignore Felix's concerns and just focus on his work. But another part of him was curious about what Felix had discovered.
"Okay, fine," Raymond said finally. "Meet me at the coffee shop down the street at 5."
Felix agreed, and Raymond hung up the phone, his mind racing with possibilities. What had Felix discovered? And was it something that would change everything?
As the day drew to a close, Raymond made his way to the coffee shop, his mind filled with questions. What had Felix discovered? And was it something that would finally prove his suspicions about Scarlet?
When he arrived at the coffee shop, Felix was already there, sipping on a cup of coffee. Raymond slid into the booth across from him, his eyes locked on Felix's.
"So, what did you find out?" Raymond asked, getting straight to the point.
Felix leaned in, his voice low. "I've been going over the company's financial records," he said. "And I think I've found a discrepancy."
Raymond's eyes narrowed. "What kind of discrepancy?"
Felix hesitated, glancing around the coffee shop nervously. "It looks like someone has been embezzling funds from the company," he said quietly.
Raymond's eyes widened in shock. "That's impossible," he said. "We have strict controls in place to prevent that kind of thing."
Felix nodded. "I know. But I've seen the records, Ray. Someone is siphoning off money from the company."
Raymond's mind was racing. Who could be behind this? And how had they managed to evade detection for so long?
But as he looked at Felix, he knew that he still wasn't convinced. Felix was just being paranoid, and Raymond was determined to prove it.
Raymond's expression was skeptical. "I don't know, Felix. This sounds like a pretty wild accusation. Do you have any proof?"
Felix hesitated, rummaging through his notes. "I have some discrepancies in the financial records, but I need more time to investigate."
Raymond raised an eyebrow. "And you think Scarlet is behind this?"
Felix nodded. "I do. I think she's been manipulating the records to cover her tracks."
Raymond sighed, shaking his head. "Felix, I appreciate your concern, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree. Scarlet is a great secretary, and I trust her completely."
Felix's face fell, his expression frustrated. "Ray, you're not listening to me. I'm telling you, something is off about Scarlet."
Raymond stood up, signaling the end of the conversation. "I hear you, Felix. But I need more than just speculation and accusations. I need proof."
Felix nodded, his eyes flashing with determination. "I'll get you proof, Ray. Just you wait."
As Felix stormed out of the coffee shop, Raymond couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Was Felix just being paranoid, or was there really something sinister going on?
