Rope took the note anyway. But he had no intention of using that notebook.
The technology used to make Mewtwo should have been destroyed...
That's the way it's supposed to be. But Blaine, Professor Fuji, and Team Rocket, whoever had this information in hand, all coincidentally chose to seal it rather than destroy it.
Who would be willing to give up a legendary battle power that can be quickly molded, even if there are uncontrollable risks?
Everything was readily available, as long as there was a genetic sample of Mew, Mewtwo could be manufactured in bulk...
Of course, this is a joke, the cost of manufacturing Mewtwo is too high and cannot be lowered.
But it's not a problem for each power to afford one or two Mewtwo.
But wouldn't it be unfair for Mewtwo to be our companion, friend, and relative, while Mewtwo is a tool, a weapon, and a slave?
Rope would never do such a thing. He's a cheap bastard, but he has his own bottom line.
A line that will never be breached.
You'd be hard pressed to imagine that once Rope really doesn't care about doing whatever it takes to the world. What kind of crazy things could this guy with tons of Legendary Pokémon knowledge do.
So it's a good thing that the first person Rope met in this world was Professor Oak, and thanks to Rope's correct outlook on the world cultivated by the education he received on Earth back then. Otherwise, this Pokémon world would be in danger...
But when Rope looked at that notebook, he still had thoughts that he shouldn't have had...
He knew where Professor Fuji and the others had missed the mark. He had enough Mew gene samples on hand. He had enough money on hand.
Legendary level battle power. The Legendary-class Pokémon with the greatest potential.
Aren't you impressed?
Then Rope burned the notebook.
Rope unleashed his ability and burned the notebook as Mr. Fuji stared in amazement.
Mr. Fuji looked at Rope with an expression of disbelief, as if he had seen something unimaginable. He wanted to speak out and ask.
Ask why? Ask what's wrong? Ask on what grounds?
Why did you burn the notes?
What's wrong with me giving it to you?
Who are you to burn my heart and soul?
But he didn't ask a single question.
He saw Rope's eyes, he saw Rope's dismay, chagrin, but, more than that... determination.
[Yeah, that's the way it should be, isn't it?]
Mr. Fuji asked himself.
[Yeah, that's the way it should be.]
Mr. Fuji replied.
The meaning of Mewtwo's existence could not be changed even if he tried to gloss over it, but the fact that Mewtwo's existence was a tragic story could not be changed.
Letting the tragedy that has already happened not repeat itself, isn't that what a researcher should really realize?
When he looked at Rope again, his eyes were no longer filled with doubt, but only filled with admiration. Compared to this teenager, both Blaine and himself had lost the bottom line of a researcher, they had both lost their hearts in the power of legends.
There's no shame in losing one's heart in front of the power of legends. The strongest in the world, who could not desire such a thing?
[This teenager, will become, a new legend.]
Mr. Fuji smiled in relief. He was happy that there were still such juniors in the research world. Happy that there were still people in this world who could not be controlled by greed.
Rope was actually torn between a bunch right now...
He knew he could recreate Mewtwo, and he really wanted to create a Mewtwo to take in himself. But... he can't do it!
Mewtwo is lost at the border between Pokémon and humans.Rope is lost at the border between Earthlings and the Pokémon world.
Mewtwo feels like he can't find his own kind, and Rope is bawling in his room alone, overwhelmed by loneliness when he first arrives.
As Mewtwo searches for the meaning of his existence, how could Rope not be confused by this inexplicable journey when he first arrives in the world?
Rope wants to create another Mewtwo?
Does he want to make another one of himself?
If I had already experienced this pain. Then I will never inflict this pain on others.]
Rope told himself in his heart.
[This is... the bottom line.]
Rope had never wanted to find Mewtwo so badly.
Not to subdue, but to redeem him. Rope himself was redeemed by Professor Oak, Daisy, Blue, Red, and Cynthia.
He is no longer alone, no longer lost, no longer finding the meaning of his existence.
He's in the best position in the world to help Mewtwo fulfill his redemption.
Because they were... kindred spirits.
The notes burned quickly, and Rope casually tossed the reduced-to-cinders notes into the trash.
He smiled at Mr. Fuji, who was also smiling, and asked, "Grandpa Fuji, you might as well tell me the basics of what's going on here. I'm not too bad, so let's see if I can help you deal with the ghost riots here."
Seeing that Rope had no intention of bringing up the subject of Mewtwo again, Mr. Fuji didn't say anything else and instead followed Rope's question, "Do you know about the Spirit Realm?"
Rope nodded, the Spirit Realm was a world out of between the real world and the Reverse World. Where the Pokémon were of the Ghost lineage. Pokémon of other lineages couldn't stay in the Spirit Realm for a long time or they would be killed by the high-energy Ghost Lineage energies and soul forces. Speaking of which, the closest places to the Spirit Realm would be the Pokémon Tower over here, Mt. Pyre in Hoenn, Lost Tower in Sinnoh, and Celestial Tower in Unova. So it's not surprising that the Spirit Realm's turmoil would affect this place.
"The ghost king must have died recently in the Spirit Realm, and many ghost-type Pokémon are fighting for the position of ghost king and the remaining souls. So all the ghost-type Pokémon are caught in a weird carnival."
Mr. Fuji said leisurely. It was obvious that he had known about the situation here for a while, and Rise had the ability to defend himself.
"We've already notified the League side, and while this isn't a big deal, it's really not a small deal. The odds are that Agatha will be the one to come over and take care of it."
As soon as Rope heard the word 'Agatha', he immediately winced.
Seeing this, Mr. Fuji asked suspiciously, "What's wrong? Cold?"
Rope shook his head, "No, not really..."
Mr. Fuji was puzzled, but seeing that Rope didn't mean to say anything, he didn't ask again.
Rope actually wasn't too timid, but if it had anything to do with ghosts... the guy would be scared...
Because he was naughty when he was a child and thought of helping Professor Oak and Granny Agatha on a blind date, and then not pleasing both sides, he was severely beaten up by Professor Oak.
Since then, when Granny Agatha greeted him, she would always ask Gengar to make a move of darkness first, and let him watch a small 28-banned horror movie after half an hour...
It cast a psychological shadow over his young mind.
With that thought, Rope shivered again...
