The guy stepped forward and sniffed her, "You don't have a scent…you're a human." His face suddenly contorted with disgust, then shoved get out of the way and marched away with his colleagues.
Evelyn bit her lips. It seems she's not going to get justice. The warriors were supposed to be the peacekeepers and law enforcers in the city.
Since they turned her away, what else could she do? She glanced back at the inn, feeling aggrieved.
"At least, you should have given me something to eat first," she mumbled to herself before walking away, clutching Vlad's cloak around her.
