CH: 92 Licker Attack

[Chapter: 92 Licker Attack]

"He is dead, but I wonder who will be next?" William smiled as he watched the licker rushing back and forth across the room.

"William, how come you are so calm? Don't you think it's scary?" Terry said with some fear.

"Don't worry, it has to go through me first if it wants to come after you," William said softly.

Terry's heart moved a little. "William..." she muttered. Her heart was beating fast, and she was blushing.

"Hey, come on now. Can you be a little more serious about this?" Peyton yelled, firing at the licker that was on the ceiling, but the licker avoided all the bullets.

"Come on!" Peyton screamed and ran toward the room next to him.

William grabbed Terry's hand and followed Peyton. They ran into the room and closed the door.

Meanwhile, Jill slowly took her gun and walked carefully. She encountered the priest, but the things he had done were something she couldn't accept. He had fed his zombie sister the flesh of people instead of killing her, but she couldn't condemn him for it—maybe because that is what you would do for a family member.

The sound of a chair falling to the ground came, and Jill's hair stood on end because of fear. In this environment, any small changes and sounds would cause nerve tension.

Jill saw a gun on the ground. The gun was now a valuable item, so Jill slowly picked it up.

Boom!

An object dropped from above, startling Jill, who quickly turned back and asked, "Who?"

It was a corpse with bite marks. It was vaguely recognizable as the former dragon-tattooed man.

"Roar," he hissed.

Jill looked upward, her expression changing when she saw a monster she had never seen before. Without hesitation, Jill fired and then turned and ran.

After running for a bit, Jill came to the front of the church but didn't see Peyton. "Peyton? William? Terry?"

"Hmm?"

One hand suddenly covered Jill's mouth from behind, dragging her backward.

"Shh."

Jill was pulled into a room, and the hand covering her mouth was released.

Jill turned to see William, Peyton, and Terry.

"Can you take your hand away?" Jill asked, looking at the hand that was still on her waist—it was William's hand. Just now, William had pulled her in but hadn't let go.

"Oh, sorry. I forgot," William said hurriedly, though his hand lingered on her waist, thinking to himself that there should be no problem trying different postures.

Jill was about to punch him for daring to take advantage of her when they suddenly heard a loud "Roar!"

They looked toward the top of the church. It was a licker opening its mouth.

"I saw three in total, and it seems they have surrounded us," Peyton said, his face grim.

"I saw it too," Jill said lightly.

"It looks like we won't be able to leave without killing them," William said without much emotion.

"Let's rush out together." Jill held her gun and rushed outside.

Peyton followed Jill, and Terry followed William.

Bang! Bang!

Jill and Peyton faced the fast-moving lickers, blasting at them, trying to hit them, but the lickers were too fast.

"I'm running out of bullets," Jill said.

A licker fell from above, landing on the ground. It stared at the group, its mouth opening wide, filled with drool and a disgusting smell.

William, Jill, and Peyton all pointed their guns at the licker on the ground.

"Hey, I can kill this thing easily," William said, trying to impress the girls.

"Don't mess around," Jill said coldly, thinking he was joking.

The licker jumped up, rushing at the group, its long tongue shooting out like a sharp sword.

"Be careful!" Jill and Peyton both backed away, firing at the licker in the process.

"William ran away!" Terry yelled, noticing that William wasn't moving.

"Get out of there!" Jill shouted at William.

The licker's tongue shot toward William.

"William!" Terry screamed.

Just when they thought William would die, something unexpected happened.

William easily avoided the tongue, quickly aimed his gun with one hand, and shoved the barrel into the licker's mouth.

Bang!

The licker screamed in pain as the bullet pierced through its back.

The licker's body flew backward, landing heavily on the ground. It struggled a few times before dying.

Jill's brow furrowed slightly. This kind of skill, this speed—faster than a licker's. Was he really just a hunter?

"That was so cool!" Terry shouted.

Peyton's thoughts were complicated. He had looked down on William, but reality hit him—William wasn't as weak as he had assumed.

The remaining lickers roared, and one of them suddenly fell from above.

A bright light suddenly reflected off a glass mirror. William, noticing the light, smiled wickedly. He knew who had finally arrived.

Vroom!

The sound of glass shattering echoed, and a motorcycle burst through the broken window. A person wearing a helmet was riding it.

The motorcycle slammed into the licker mid-air, causing a painful roar as the licker was hit.

Immediately afterward, the motorcycle landed with a beautiful turn. Its tires screeched as it came to a stop, standing firmly.
