Chapter 26: The New Pawn

[3rd POV]

Reappearing back in her home, Morgan was almost immediately greeted by the sight of her peerage, who was all waiting for her, as they knew that she wanted to hunt down Raynare, but that had seemingly changed now that she was locked up in a room upstairs, the wards confining her to the room.

"Morgan, why is a fallen angel upstairs?" Valiana asked, as Morgan gazed at her, before sighing.

"She is likely going to be a new member of the peerage, a pawn. And before you say anything, she didn't have any idea that she was on a mission for Kokabiel, not Azazel. She was also very obviously hating what she was being ordered to do, and If her emotions were any indicator, she would have stopped herself before killing Issei, leading to her own death" Morgan replied, as they all went silent, before Lavinia spoke up.

"Well if you think she's safe, then I think so too! Plus a fallen angel would be a good addition to the peerage, we need more variety" Lavinia said with a bright smile, not minding the new addition, if Morgan trusted in it.

"If master is okay with her, then so am I, Nya~" Kuroka purred, as Morgan smiled, the rest of her peerage giving their own support for the decision, trusting in Morgan, who had yet to make a bad decision regarding a peerage member.

"Won't Azazel have something to say about this?" Lint asked, as Morgan snorted.

"That old man could care less for anything other than women and his experiments. Trust me, he won't give a damn about Raynare joining my peerage. And if he is, I'll just bribe the old pervert with a book from the Zagan library, one about Sacred Gears or something" Morgan said, as she already had a book in mind. It was one that the man definitely didn't have, and was worth nothing to her, that, and she'd just make a copy of the real thing, and give him the copy.

"Alright then, we'll leave you to deal with our potential new peerage member. Just...be careful" Valiana warned, as Morgan just chuckled at her worry.

"Trust me, she can't do anything to me, Valiana" Morgan said with a confident smile, before walking off to speak with Raynare, leaving the peerage alone.

Walking up the stairs, Morgan made her way to the room that Raynare was in, which was across from Valiana's, and next to Lint's. Walking to the door, she let out a breath before opening the door, and walking in, where Raynare was standing, in a new set of clothes that looked far more comfortable than before.

"I'm glad you got into some more comfortable clothing" Morgan said, as she grabbed a chair from the nearby desk, and sat on it across from Raynare, who was sat on the edge of the bed.

"I-thank you" Raynare said, as Morgan raised an eyebrow.

"For what?"

"For telling me the truth, that I was being manipulated, for...not killing me when I deserved it" Raynare replied, listing the things Morgan had done for her, when most others wouldn't.

"Yeah well, I have this bad tendency of saving cute girls that need it" Morgan replied with a smile, as Raynare looked down.

"What are you going to do to me now?" Raynare asked, as Morgan hummed.

"That is up to you. I can either send you back to Azazel, where he'll likely pardon you as you haven't actually committed any crimes, or two, you take the offer I am about to give you" Morgan replied, as Raynare looked at her.

"Offer?" Raynare asked with confusion evident in her violet eyes.

"Simple, join my peerage as my newest pawn. Should you, you will grow far beyond what you normally would, gain power beyond your wildest imaginations, and a group of friends that will protect you with their lives. In return, you'd of course serve me, and me alone, you'll be mine, not Azazel's, and not Grigori's. You'll also undergo training, studying, and some other things that are expected of all of my peerage members, like going on missions for me, and such" Morgan replied, as Raynare's eyes widened, as Morgan continued.

"But I can promise that if you do join me, you will become stronger than any of those Fallen Angels that looked down upon you, including even Kokabiel and Azazel" Morgan continued, as Raynare breathed in deeply. She wanted to doubt Morgan, to believe she was lying, but with the absolute certainty that she was saying it with, it was hard to doubt her.

"I-why me?" Raynare asked, as she looked at Morgan in confusion. She was just a middle class Angel in terms of power, a nobody in the grand scheme of things, so to be given such an offer was...confusing and shocking.

"Because you're the best choice I have in regards to recruiting a Fallen Angel, simple as that. You aren't the strongest, or the smartest, but you're simply the best choice I have" Morgan replied simply, as Raynare looked her in the eyes, before a small smile slowly formed on her face.

"I'll do it, I'll become your pawn" Raynare said, as Morgan smiled, a mutated pawn piece forming in her hand out of nowhere, as she walked forward.

"This'll feel...weird, so just try to bear with it" Morgan said awkwardly, as she pushed the piece into Raynare, who let out a gasp, moans soon echoing from the room as she began to undergo the change, all the while, Morgan was paying attention to something else, as the fanon maker activated, not once, not twice, but three times.

[Blinded Providence | Sacred Gear - Blinded Providence has the ability to create a shield, dome, barrier, and/or wall, that can protect the user, and anyone inside the barrier from any attack. Only the attacks of something like the True Longinus, Zenith Tempest, or higher beings could break through these shields. These shields can be strengthened should the user use other magics, sacred gears, and abilities on top of it. These shields take the form of a green barrier that takes different forms. [Hyper Regeneration | Quirk - Much like Super Regeneration, Hyper Regeneration allows the user to heal themselves from any injury. However, the rate at which the user is able to heal themselves is much faster, allowing them to recover from any damage done to their body almost instantaneously. They can even heal so fast that their body, when under certain stress, can heal faster than their body can be damaged. The user is capable of healing entire limbs and organs in an instant, and can even grant the user immunity to poison, illnesses, and prevent them from gaining addictions. This is done though an extra portion of the brain the user possesses, which tells their body to heal rapidly when it recognizes damage. Overall, this Quirk is considered one of, if not the best, Quirk in terms of self-healing. However, the user needs to keep their body full of calories, the more calories the user eats, the more energy they have to regenerate. When out of calories, the user loses their ability to heal until they've consumed more. Also, if the healing portion of the brain is damaged or destroyed, the user loses their ability to heal. This can also be done through decapitation, although the user has a chance to heal if they rapidly regenerate before the brain shuts down from lack of blood flow. [Black Blood | Quirk - Owing to its name, the blood appears black when seen outside the vessels as opposed to red. It is not much different from that of ordinary blood and can be affected by herbal medicine that improves circulation. The Black Blood, unlike regular blood, is weaponized and can either harden or soften depending on the user who is controlling the Black Blood. The hardening and durability of an individual with the Black Blood, however, varies from individual to individual. However, those with Black Blood are blessed with powerful healing capabilities and can heal from grievous injuries. In addition, it can grant an individual a great amount of strength, durability and speed. Black Blood can also mold and alter itself to various shapes as well as harden to stop the bleeding of an individual as well as use its bleeding to its advantage in surprising and attacking an opponent. She suspected it was due to gaining a new species in her peerage, as she hadn't had a fallen angel before. Besides that, the other one was probably from her gaining her 10th peerage member. The assimilation of them all was pretty quick, with the only thing she had really noticed was the slightly strange sensation that spread through her body, thanks to the black blood and her new regenerative capabilities.

Sitting back, Morgan watched as Raynare let out soft gasps, as her wings sprouted from her back, revealing that she now had one half devil wings, and one half fallen angel wings. Gazing at her, Morgan hummed.

'Looks like she's at around Peak Middle Class, she should be in High Class within a week or two. After all, she has more experience than my entire peerage combined, being a fallen angel and all. She's thousands of years old, meaning she would likely grow faster than most of the others' Morgan thought with a pleased smile, as Raynare opened her eyes, awe filling her at the new power that was within her. Beforehand she was only at around "Low" Middle class, now she had been catapulted to "Peak" Middle class.

"Master...thank you" Raynare said looking into Morgan's eyes with thinly veiled reverence.

"No problem, Raynare. Now, why don't we go and meet the rest of my peerage?" Morgan said, as she held her hand out. Looking down at the hand, Raynare took it with a small blush, as she was led out of the room, ready to formally meet the rest of Morgan's peerage.

The next day, Morgan was sitting in her office. Her peerage out in the city, doing what she wanted them to do the previous day, aka, wiping out the fallen angels and stray devils. With her order also included to capture Dohnaseek, Mittelt, and Kalawarna to give to Serafall. As she believed that it would be a good way of getting out of any annoying situations with Grigori.

At the same time, Raynare was in the basement, training with Reina, who had passed some of her duties to trusted aides until she got back later that day. Raynare, after seeing how weak she was in comparison to the rest of the peerage, became determined to catch up with the others, to become strong enough to join them on missions, and to make her new master proud. Something Morgan found to be adorable.

'With that done with, now I've just got to wait until Asia appears, and I can see about recruiting her into the peerage. Then there's the Phenex brat who I'm sure Rias can deal with, with all the training her and her peerage are getting. I guess getting some Familiars is due soon too' Morgan thought with a hum, deciding that getting herself a good familiar was definitely needed, and there was only really one that she thought would suit her.

'Well, we'll deal with that after Asia joins' Morgan decided, that way everyone could get themselves a new familiar.

As she sipped on her coffee, she stopped and blinked as she felt people enter the wards 'Huh, looks like they've noticed' Morgan thought, as she got up and teleported off, reappearing in front of Rias and Sona, who both jumped in fright.

"Satan, don't scare us like that!" Rias yelled, while Sona was blushing bright red at the girlish scream that left her lips upon being scared by Morgan.

"Sorry, Rias. Now, what is it you are here for? Our training isn't until tomorrow" Morgan asked, as she looked at them.

Clearing her throat as she shook off the blush, Sona spoke "Do you have any knowledge of the rapid attacks that are happening around town? Fallen Angels, Stray Devils, and even Rogue Exorcists?"

"Oh that? Yeah that's Lint, she's off hunting them down right now. I decided that they were causing a lot of issues, so it was time they died" Morgan responded with a nod, as Rias frowned.

"What about the Church or Grigori?"

"I could care less about the Church. As for the Grigori, I'm having Lint capture a few of them to give to Serafall, who will then trade them back to the Grigori and Azazel, and probably not for a cheap price. Otherwise Azazel will have deal with the fallout of having Fallen angels in the territory of the Sitri and Gremory Heiress's" Morgan replied, not afraid of the fallout affecting her, as it wouldn't.

"Shouldn't you have told Sona-sama or Rias-sama before doing such a thing?" Tsubaki said with a frown, as Morgan raised an eyebrow.

"You're forgetting that I am here because Serafall asked me to watch over Sona. I am keeping her safe by taking care of the problem that is making Serafall worried for her safety in the first place. And while I may live in Kuoh, you forget who you are talking to, Tsubaki" Morgan replied, giving the girl a look of warning as she understood and went quiet.

"You could have at least warned us, could you not?" Rias asked, as Morgan sighed.

"I could have, but you would have insisted on joining Lint in her hunt. And, no offense, but that would have drastically slowed her down, making it easier for the ones she's hunting to flee or go into hiding" Morgan replied, as Rias frowned.

"How, I am a high class devil whereas she is just your knight. While she might be strong, she cannot be that much stronger than me, can she?" Rias asked in genuine confusion.

"Rias, while Lint is only a knight, she is already comparable to a weaker Ultimate Class being"

At these words, Rias, Sona, Tsubaki, and Akeno (who were the only ones there) all looked at her with wide eyes, registering her words.

"You-you mean to tell me that your knight is an ultimate class being?" Sona exclaimed in shock, as she knew that the knight was powerful, but she thought that was only at the higher echelons of High Class in power, not Ultimate Class.

"Yep, she's pretty strong you know. There's a reason why she told Kiba to reach high class before challenging her again, and there is a reason why I said that she could crush all of you. And that is because she could, even without her sacred gear she is beyond any of you at the moment" Morgan replied with a shrug, as it was true.

"Look, I understand that you're worrying about the aftereffects of me doing this, but trust me, I know what I am doing. Now, is there anything else you need?" Morgan asked, as she looked them over, before they all shook their heads.

"No, we just came here to ask about the raids, that's all. We'll be on our ways now" Sona said awkwardly, as she turned and began to walk off, wanting to think about everything she had heard from Morgan, while Rias coughed and awkwardly turned to leave as well, but not before giving Morgan one more glance.

Watching them leave, Morgan sighed, as she began to walk back to her home, one last thought on her mind.

'...Now we just wait for Asia'
