Mumbai – The Journey to the Caves
The streets of Mumbai were alive.
People moved everywhere, like a never-ending wave. Car horns blared, the air smelled of street food and spices, and every few seconds, someone yelled in Hindi.
"Arre bhai! Jaldi chalo!" (Hey, brother! Walk faster!)
"Yeh taxi kahaan jaa rahi hai?!" (Where is this taxi going?!)
"Kitna paisa?!" (How much money?!)
Deadpool, sitting in the back of the cab, was absolutely thriving.
"I LOVE THIS PLACE!" he declared, dramatically sticking his head out the window like a golden retriever.
Raju, their semi-reliable driver, smirked. "Of course, my friend! Mumbai is the city of dreams! Anything is possible here."
Frenchie, sitting beside him, raised an eyebrow. "Even finding a mystical artifact hidden in an old British cave?"
Raju didn't even blink.
"Especially that."
The Road to Mystery
The ride took them out of the crowded chaos of Mumbai and into a more remote area. The urban jungle slowly gave way to greenery—trees, open land, and dusty roads leading into the unknown.
Deadpool dramatically placed a hand over his heart.
"Ahhh… so peaceful… so serene… so—"
BUMP.
The taxi hit a pothole.
Hughie, who had been sipping tea, spilled it all over himself.
"OH, FOR F—"
Raju cackled. "Roads here are just suggestions, my friend!"
Kimiko just smirked.
Butcher leaned forward. "Oi. How much farther?"
Raju pointed ahead. "We are close! Just through that old road… then, we must go on foot."
Alex checked his status window.
[ QUEST LOCATION: NEARBY ]
His heart pounded.
They were getting close.
The taxi finally stopped in front of a rugged hill, partially covered by trees and vines. A hidden path led toward the entrance of an old cave system.
Alex felt something… off.
There was an aura here—something ancient, something that had seen blood and war.
As they entered the caves, Raju's voice echoed through the stone walls.
"You know… these caves? They are not just some boring holes in the ground. No, no, no, my friends. They are the last echoes of a rebellion."
Deadpool grinned. "Oh, story time! Gather around, kids!"
Raju smirked. "Ah, you see, back in 1857, India had its first war of independence against the British. The soldiers and revolutionaries, they needed safe places—places to hide, places to plan."
Hughie glanced at the walls. "And they used these caves?"
Raju nodded. "Yes! These caves were part of an underground system. Some say they stretched for miles, allowing the freedom fighters to move unseen. The British… oh, they tried to find them. Tried to wipe them out. But these caves? They are smarter than they look."
Frenchie raised an eyebrow. "Smarter… how?"
Raju's voice dropped to a whisper.
"Some say the caves shift. Move when no one is looking. Many British soldiers entered… but never came out."
Silence.
A cold breeze swept through the tunnel.
Alex's status window flickered.
[ WARNING: AREA DISTORTED ]
He gulped.
Deadpool clapped his hands. "Oh hell yes. Haunted murder caves. I LOVE THIS VACATION!"
They kept walking.
The deeper they went, the heavier the air became.
And then—
The walls shifted.
The tunnel they just walked through? Gone.
And the only way left?
