a pardon?

The locals of kilroi town stared in shock and disbelief, seeing jack standing there. One moment he was on the podium, and the next he'd killed five goblins with a single strike?

Monster, was the only word they could use to describe such feat staring at him.

Meanwhile, the group of about a dozen goblins stopped in their tracks few meters from Jack. Their eyes staring in shock at their headless comrades, then onto jack with the bloody knife.

A sinister smile spread widely across his face, making the goblins take a step back.

"What's wrong? Don't tell me you're scared." jack smirked enjoying every moment of this.

'They're surprisingly weaker than I thought.' When he'd first come to this town, he found no traces of goblins which was a bit weird. But he shrugged it off as nothing.

Now that he'd finally came in contact with them, they were surprisingly weaker than what the fantasy books described them.

[Goblins are mythical creatures known for their brute strength and barbaric nature. They vary in size and strength according to their power rank level, and posses low intelligence and resistance to magical attacks] the system stated.

'So that must mean these are f rank goblins.'' Jack inwardly said to which the system affirmed.

[Yes. Their aura's suggest they are f rank goblins with the lowest of intelligence.] The system said analyzing the group of goblins in front.

'They're quite ugly than the orc's.' A look of disgust flashed across jack's face, staring at the goblins.

"W-what should we do abgarde?" A tad shorter goblin stuttered, staring at a much taller goblin.

Clenching it's fist tightly a look of rage formed on it's face. The previous fear being replaced by anger. "What we always do. Kill!"

He shouted raising his short rusty sword, that looked more like a dagger. Seeing their leader charge forward the rest of the goblins picked up courage, following his lead.

With a calm look on his face, jack didn't bother heading out to meet them. Instead, waiting for them to come at him.

"This will be to easy." A smug grin was plastered on his face, seeing them approach. He could tell he was stronger than them physically. And he also had his skills to rely on.

"Die!" The leader of the goblin screamed slashing his sword at jack.

'Slow.' Was the only thought on Jack's mind watching the attack. It was incredibly slow in his eyes, moving at a snail's pace.

Sidestepping he slammed his fist into the goblin guts, chucking him up a bit in the air. Holding him with both arms, he whispered something into his ears.

"Watch as I slaughter your kind." Jack coldy said tossing him back. He flew fast, crashing into some wooden barrels on the small podium.

Seeing their leader defeated so easily like that, made the ignited flame in them to die out. To which jack exploited taking advantage.

Moving swiftly his steps were precise and accurate. He'd gained somewhat knowledge while facing Jin, so his battle instincts was better than before.

Reaching the next goblin in no time, he made a deep slash running along the latter's chest.

Wincing in pain, the goblin tried to attack but slashed nothing but air.

It's eye's suddenly widened feeling a gust of air behind him. It couldn't react as it's head was swiftly decapitated, rolling on the floor. Stopping just some few steps from the crowd.

Gasps of terror and fear escaped their mouths not at the head, but the new village chief ahead. It was no doubt he was much more of a monster than Jin, their former village chief was.

'That should give them a good thrill.' Jack smiled, aware of the piercing stares directed at him. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself, enjoying the little display of entertainment he was performing.

With each step he took the knife blurred from sight, followed by the cries of a goblin. They were no match for jack, as they couldn't keep up with his movements let alone land a hit.

One by one their numbers decreased while Jack's speed didn't. Increasing which each step he took, moving like a speed killing machine.

'I wonder what they're doing here?' Jack thought, evading a spear thrown at him. Grabbing it he released it from his hand, shooting fast like an arrow cutting through the air.

"Phough." The goblin coughed up green blood, struck in the heart by the spear. Disbelief and fear lingered in it's eyes, slumping to the ground dead.

"W-we can't win this.." the goblin that'd asked abgarde before muttered. He could see the latter hadn't still gotten up yet, seemingly knocked out.

Their forces were being wiped out by the second, by this unholy entity.

"Everyone retreat!" He shouted turning back and running forward, with all the speed he could muster.

Taken aback, the remaining group of three goblins stared at their kind in disbelief.

"D-did he just abandon us?" They muttered, seeing their comrade fleeing for his live. Whatever will they had fading to smoke.

"Coward." Jack grinned staring at the fleeing goblin. To be honest, he didn't blame the creature. It was a primal instinct to flee when one was presented with danger. So the goblin was merely running for it's life.

Stomping his foot jack avoided the remaining three goblins, reaching the goblin running. The latter could feel a cold sensation wash down it's spine, feeling the atmosphere change.

"No.. i-i can't die, I don't want to!" It screamed slashing it's sword back, in hopes to catch jack off guard. It's eyes widened in shock seeing no one there.

"I despise cowards." A deep voice spoke from behind in a sinister tone. The look of disbelief was plastered on the goblins face, as it's heart sank.

"Phough! phough." It coughed up fresh blood as an item pierced it's back. It attempted to still flee, but jack wouldn't let it.

Grabbing it's arm Jack broke it, earning a scream from the goblin. He then plunged the knife more deeper into the creature's skin. There was some resistance at first, but adding some strength it fully went in.

[Congratulations on killing a rank f goblin!]

[Rewards will be distributed soon..]

Several system notifications flashed before his eyes, to which he ignored for later. Looking ahead, he was surprised to see the three group of goblins standing there frozen in shock.

Calmly walking over they were immediately pulled from their trance, feeling the same dominating pressure overwhelming them.

"We pledge our allegiance to you. P-please don't kill us!" They begged, dropping their weapons and bowing down to jack.

'Now this is intriguing.' Jack smiled with a look of mischief.

"No! What the hell are you doing traitors!?" Abgarde had woken up staggering a bit on the podium. He had a wild expression of rage, seeing his group slaughtered like animals. And witnessing his own kind bowing to a hideous creature, made his blood boil more.

"I'll show you bastard!" He roared clutching his sword tightly, blindly charging with rage at jack. Sighing, the latter was composed with a light smirk.

"I was saving you for last, but oh well." Jack muttered slightly shaking his head. Not armed, jack shot straight for abgarde with incredible speed.

Blinded by rage the goblin didn't bother to access his opponent, instead wildly charging like a savage beast. Close enough, abgarde slashed his sword in an arc at jack.

Leaping up a bit the latter dodged, stomping the goblin's shoulder. Sending out a kick connecting to the goblin head, pushing it back.

"Phough!" Abgarde coughed up fresh green blood panting a bit. It's eyes filled with shock amazed at jack's speed. He could see his own kind staring at him with mixed expressions, which made his blood boil further.

"Argh!" He let out a battle cry charging at jack once again. His eyes filled with anger, disbelief, and shock. Reaching jack he let out several strikes, all to which the latter dodged with ease.

[Why don't you end it's misery?] The system asked seeing jack toying with the creature.

'Now where's the fun in that?' Jack smirked evading a strike. 'I've never had this much fun before.'

Plunging forward the abgarde attempted to stab jack in one last stand, but failed miserably. As jack intercepted his sword, grabbing it with his bare hand. With a mocking scuff he broke it with one hand.

"Ph-ough." The goblin's eye squinted in bewilderment, witnessing this creature casually break it's sword. Yes it was rusty and not in the best of shape, but still one couldn't just casually break it like some candy.

[Congratulations on killing a goblin!]

The system notification flashed before his eyes, simultaneously as abgarde lifeless body fell to the floor. His eyes widened in shock.

"All hail the village chief! he has brought victory to this town by saving us from the goblins attack." A voice yelled.

"All hail the village chief!" They all chanted worshipping jack like a god.

'Weird.' Was the only word jack could use to describe this. Shaking his head he ignored them, calmly walking over to the remaining three goblins still standing there.

They shuddered at his sight seeing him approach. Their heads lowered down in fear.

Raising his hand, they could see their lives flash before their eyes. The cold arms of death itself emitting from Jack.

"Death be to the invaders!" The crowd yelled, seeing their village chief about to land the finishing strike.

"As a reward for your loyalty, I have decided to pardon and spare your lives. You may leave now." He declared making the crowd faces contort.
