She gently placed her hands back on the dead girl's forehead and said, ''What if I have her brought to our world?''
That seemed to capture the mind of the Demon Prince. He stared at God in doubt at the possibility. He glared to see if she was trying to deceive him again like she did the last time.
''You can both live happily ever after back home. She would live with us as an immortal, and you would have no reason to hide your physical appearance from her.''
The Demon Prince was clearly yet to understand what she meant by that.
How was it possible for a mortal to flourish in the realm of immortals?
Except…
His eyes shifted thoughtfully, eventually settling heavily on the God before him.
''You can trust me to have her soul guided safely to our world. She can take it as a second chance at life, and you can get to be with her easily when that happens and no one would have to perish for breaking some rules.''
Her eyes at that moment didn't seem deceptive, and the Demon Prince didn't know if it was a wise choice to trust his nemesis with his beloved. He would curse himself if anything worse should happen to her because of it.
But presently, he had no other choice but to. If her soul couldn't revive her material form as anticipated by him—he was going to lose her forever.
A feeling of dread washed over him at the thought. He stared down at her as he held her, still not wanting that to be the end point of their relationship. He could never love and cherish anybody like he did to her. He had always been the immortal that hated everyone but himself. But ever since he laid his eyes on her—he had an extra room for an adorable mortal in his heart.
He started to adore her more than he did for himself. He would rather not return to that dark and lonely stage where he cared for no one but himself.
No one liked or respected him for it. Even the demons he was responsible for.
They all feared him like he was the devil incarnate.
She has surprisingly become his soft spot and weakness. He didn't really think it was a bad idea to have something he could be more busy with than planning to destroy half a part of the supernatural realm based on his mood.
''So, what do you say?'' She asked, adding his name softly to the question. He thought about it briefly and remembered the promise he made to himself not too long ago that he would do anything for her sake.
If it means trusting an enemy for her good.
''Have her reborn in my world?''
The moon goddess stared at him in silence. She could not believe he was ready to go that far. Have her reborn into the body of a demon?
Really?
How fair was that?
It wouldn't be nice to have gone through this kind of hell here in this world only to continue another kind of hell in a different world as a demon.
Even though God doesn't really fancy her, she thought deep down that she deserved better.
She deserved to be taken into a world and setting where she could experience real love as well as friendship. Where she wouldn't be exposed to pain and torture again. Where she would look up to the sky and welcome the beautiful clouds of the werewolf kingdom and not the crimson clouds of his kingdom.
As a God, it was her duty to always make the best decision for each of her creations, regardless of whoever they were. That was part of being called a God—doing the right thing at all times and working it altogether for the good of a certain being.
''Alright,'' She answered, even though she had something else planned that was better than his. The Demon Prince still stared at her in doubt. ''I will do what's right. Feel free to come to my place for my head if I don't.''
She leaned over to collect the body of the human pressed to himself. She cast him a questioning stare when he wasn't ready to let go of her.
''It won't only be your head I will be coming for.''
The Moon goddess smiled as she offered again to hold her body.
If anything could go wrong in this, which could cost him the existence of his beloved, he was going to show her what it means for a God to mess with a psychotic demon who has little to no care about his actions and decisions in life.
''I wouldn't want to find out what else you would be coming for. So, have faith in me to do the right thing.''
After pondering on his decision, he reluctantly loosened his hold around his love by an inch. His eternal eyes are still trying to figure out her true intentions.
The moon goddess stared up at him again when he wasn't being serious and still doubting her intentions.
''You know, souls that refuse to die ends up dying eventually if nothing is done to get it out of this material prison fast.''
He finally let go, growling in a warning tone for God to handle her with care.
She held her in her arms and felt strange to be holding a mortal body like this. She had never gotten this close to any of her creations before. This one was her first.
The divine power that flowed through her body like blood was summoned to do their work and instantly, his beloved was transformed into a tiny spherical ball of white light. It was precious and fragile, like an egg.
The Demon Prince stared in awe at her virgin soul, beaming, and active in the purest form of light.
Even God was impressed by the extent of her soul's purity and couldn't imagine forcing this into the body of a lowly demon.
It wasn't the right thing to do.
They both gazed, each captivated by it.
''Very well,'' She was the first to rise to her feet with the soul of his beloved firmly in her grasp. ''See you at home.''
She waved and turned around to return to her magical ride. He stared at her with a feeling that it wasn't right to fully trust the soul of his beloved in the hands of his enemy.
''Rise,'' he commanded softly in one breath and three dark-red energies began to dance before him. He stared at each one of them. ''You know what to do.''
The three dark-red energies each nodded at him, indicating they understood why they had been summoned. They shrank to sizes slightly smaller than a pencil dot and followed God, who carried the soul of his beloved.
