Chapter Twenty Seven: Laras Death

I was thinking about a lot as I was in the plane coming back to Canada. What if Sophie and Jhea were killed ? Was Lara really a spy? If he was, I was sure I would kill him before he breathed an action or word.

I could not bear to see my family crumble to dust . Thus was a flaw in the occupation of assassination . Enemies lurked around the corners and that was a real problem. This had not been a problem to me because of my skills. This was the first enemy of mine to be extremely smart and rich at once. Solomon Wroth Wis was a special mind. Someone like a military programmed being with an objective to ruin my happiness and life.

For the moment I began to think about the lives I usually took , the families of victims I took away. The grief I caused innocent citizens. Damn! I was a joy taker and for the first time since Sophie confronted me about my career, I was beginning to rethink my actions. I was beginning to feel the pain in what I had caused.

But.... but in as much as I wanted to quit, I had to see to it that Solomon Wroth Wis was dead. If he lived then I would be in real trouble. I had to protect my family. I was going to quit this career after Solomon Wroth Wis was dead. I am a good mathematician and I could work as a cashier in a bank or a clerk in a big company. That was somewhat decent.

I arrived at home. My hands were shaking in fear as I attempted to knock at the door. I scanned my surroundings to see any change but I did not see anything unusual. I managed to knock at the door. It was a light knock , expecting someone to throw upon themselves as I knocked.

"Brother is back!" Jhea exclaimed as soon as she opened the door to see me standing in front of her. I scanned her body for any marks of injuries or bruises but I did not find anything. Maybe nothing happened. Maybe Druwex just wanted to instill fear in me.

I walked in to scan the parlour but nothing still. I walked further into the room , looking for Sophie or Laras. I turned to my room and saw Sophie mopping my room. I stood there aghast. She was alive and that made me to be more happy than I was scared just a while ago.

She looked at me and asked. "What is the matter? How was your trip?" I just stared at her. She smiled at herself and me but I still said nothing.

Jhea crossed into the room and I turned to look at her again . I scanned her body again for bruises but I saw nothing still.

"Bridge what is the matter?" Jhea asked lightly. I stared at her in confusion at first.

"What is the matter here?" Sophie asked. Jhea turned to her. "He has been acting strange since he came back. He has looked at me as if searching for something. What is the matter , brother?"

I sat on the bed and stared at them. I was so happy with the fact that they were safe that I had not spoken since I came back. I looked at them.

"Are going to tell us what the fuck is wrong with you or just sit down at look at us like we are zombies from another planet?" Sophie said. I sighed in simple relief.

"Sorry. I was just in a deep thought." I said simply.

"Deep thought? What happened at Russia? " Sophie asked.

"I thought you guys where dead. I thought..." I was interrupted by Sophie.

"What fuck! Why would you think such?" Sophie ranted. I stared at her. Jhea stood at a corner watching the drama unfold.

"I was informed that Laras was a bait set up by Solomon Wroth Wis." I said . But that instant Sophie began to laugh hard while Jhea giggled lightly. I watched, wondering what was so amusing in what I said

"What is the matter?" Then it hit me. "Where is Laras?" I asked and it was then that they paused their laughter. I looked at then straight in the eyes. They were hiding something from me. I got up from the soft bed and walked towards the door.

"That son of a bitch attempted to harm you! He will not live see tomorrow!" I said and drew my sword. As I was about touching the door knob , Sophie called me back.

"Not to worry." Sohie said. I looked at her. Not to worry?! Was she in sane! I know that she did not like fatality, she could not leave this butch to go scot free. I had to teach him some lessons even if he did not die. I stared at her silently questioning her reason for the action.

"We have already dealt with him." Sophie said. Jhea smiled.

"What do you mean 'we'? What exactly do you mean? " I asked. Sophie smiled and looked at me.

"We took down the enemy." Sophie said. I looked at her shocked at what she had just said. Did she mean what she had just said? She and my... oh my gosh! My sister!

"Do you mean what you said?" I asked. Sophie nodded.

"You needed to see how she fought him . He is dead in the kitchen." Jhea said sounding excited. I looked at her. She had just committed a crime and excited about it. She just done what I did as a career. She had just opened a flood of ogre for killing.

"So what do we do now?" Sophie asked. I looked at her. "We leave but not before faking his death." I said.

The two ladies looked at me confused. I smiled. This was my occupation, so I knew every damn thing about it.

"What do you intend doing? I mean we have already killed him." Jhea asked.

"You killed him in kitchen right?" I asked and Sophie nodded together with Jhea. "Very well then , the job is done. We exploded the kitchen. It seem like a fire outbreak from the gas cookers." Sophie and Jhea looked at me puzzled. I smiled.

"This is what I do for a living." I stated and walked to the kitchen.

I entered in and looked around before finding Laras body close to the sink. I carried his heavy body to the gas cooker and looked around.

"Do you still have your food here?" I asked Sophie who was following me behind. She went in and got out a pot from the fridge. I collected it and dropped it on the gas cooker. It was to seem as if he was cooking before he died.

"Let's leave. I will explode here. Take Jhea and yourself out of here." I said and Sophie left. I waited for about twenty minutes. That was enough for them to run far away. I opened the gas and moved extremely far from the kitchen. I light a match stick and threw it into the kitchen. I ran immediately.

'BOOOOM!!!!'

The explosion was repulsive forcing me out of the building faster than I expected but I landed safely. I looked behind to see the house of someone who had attempted to destroy me family. Anger coursed through my spine as I looked.

"Where do we go from here?" Sophie asked. I turned in suprise. Was she this close. I thought I had told her to run far away with Jhea . I sighed and smiled.

"My home in China." I stated and Jhea gasped. She never knew that I owned a house apart from the one in America and Mexico. I dragged them to myself and the emotions in me built up as I began to hug them tight with tears held up in my eyes. Solomon Wroth Wis was getting closer.
