After finishing his classes, Felix alongside Angel and John who was reluctant as they were, walked into the library. While they could complete their homework with their textbooks, Felix was unlucky as he could not. Well, he could if he used his ability but he rather not be bed ridden after doing a few pages from a single subject.
So the three new friends reluctantly entered the grand and probably one of the biggest collections of magical books in Europe. The Hogwarts Library where many large and tall bookcases holding thousands upon thousands of books. They could even hear as a few books flew about over the shelves or a few other students inside.
"Why don't you two find us a table and I will grab a few books." Felix suggested.
"Can you carry them?" John gave him a strange look.
"Of course, that is what magic is for and I do have a bit of strength." Felix smiled as held up his arm and appeared to flex his arm that didn't change much.
Angel just shook her head at their jokes and went ahead to find them a spot. While John decided it was best to help Felix with the books. It is not because he didn't believe in Felix's ability to carry books. However, he basically carried Felix all over the castle today for classes.
After grabbing a few books that were recommended for the first few parts of the packets. The two made their way to Angel who already found a table for them. Felix was a bit surprised to find Severus Snape nearby
Upon walking by him towards Angel, Felix looked at Severus Snape's books and notes. He was busy studying potions and Felix felt his addiction acting up. So quickly seeing the path of what Severus was studying he picked out a few improvement points.
"If you adjust the temperature here, add a bit of Dittany there and stir it clockwise an extra time at this time. The time can be cut in nearly half and the potion is a bit more potent." Felix pointed out to the grumpy looking teen.
Before he could hear a sarcastic or acid-like comment. Felix fled the scene towards Angel without looking at Severus who glared. However, after thinking about it, Severus wrote down what Felix said was reasonable and possible.
"What should we start with?" Angel asked.
"Transfiguration." John replied.
Felix brought out the large packet and flipped to the first page. Where Angel and John only needed to write a small paper on the transfiguration formula and explain the spell turning a match into a needle. He on the other hand had to go into far more detail and look up various sources to prove or disprove the question.

Before Felix knew it, a few weeks went by where each day after class, he, John and Angel would visit the library. So on the days without classes they were free to play unlike others who postpone their homework until the last minute. However, despite it being a Saturday, Felix was inside the library working out the blueprints for his magic items he plans to sell.
Unknown to him, it was also the day the staff gathered to discuss talented wizards or witches they found or issues that seem to be rising. For while they may gather throughout the week to discuss things, however those were informal discussions while this one brought most of the staff together. Among them was the Headmaster who just wanted to hear about the opinions of his professors he hired.
"It's already a few weeks into the term and it's time again to raise concerns or discuss the young talents." Albus Dumbledore began with a smile.
"There hasn't been much besides James Potter and his friends beginning their jokes again. I wish they wouldn't torment Severus Snape as much, but the boy isn't exactly faultless in the matter either." Professor Slughorn began. "On the note of talent, Mr. Grindelwald is something I have never seen before. While it's a bit rough in a few spots, that boy can do wonders with potions and make most potion masters I know look like third years."
"I have to agree, that boy talent in Charms is among the very best." Professor Flitwick nodded. "More often than not he tends to do non-verbal when casting. I also noted he is capable of small bits of wandless magic."
"Talented as he is, I can't help but feel like he's plotting something." Professor McGonagall stated.
"Is that so?" Dumbledore asked. "What makes you feel that way?"
"The way he stares at me when I look over the packet I gave him." Professor McGonagall replied.
"Minerva, may I ask what you included in your packet?" Dumbledore asked cautiously.
As if expecting such a question, a duplicate was handed over and Dumbledore flipped a few pages. His beard twitching a bit the more pages he flipped. For it clear the root cause of the matter was entirely because of the packet. Poor boy has to go far and beyond since he is basically doing sixth year things by having to check and find sources to validate his answers.
The first five years were basically teaching the basics of various magic branches. While the sixth and seventh years were preparing teaching the students how to cast non-verbally and research and find answers among various sources. So they would get a small taste of what will be involved to broaden their knowledge of a subject in the future if they so choose.
By the time he got to the final page, Dumbledore felt Felix practice the spells and got some practical experience. It wouldn't be impossible to get an outstanding in the N.E.W.T exams. Since the end of the packet were things that were usually covered by sixth or seventh years.
"Do you plan to have him keep track of this for his entire school life?" Dumbledore asked.
"Of course not. I expect him to be finished with it by Christmas at the latest." Professor McGonagall replied.
Albus Dumbledore really felt bad for Felix at this point.

A few hours later in the library among a small tower of books, many which covered herbology, charms, ancient runes and alchemy for children. Felix had finally finished the blueprint and gathered the initial knowledge among what he needed. For a while he can look into the paths and creation process. It doesn't really teach him the knowledge leading up to it unless he wants to backtrack dozens if not more paths.
It was like he wanted to make a philosopher's stone. He could write it down and do it step by step, but if someone asks how or why at certain parts? Then he will be in a slightly awkward situation for while he could backpedal to find the answer. He would rather just spend his time to reverse engineer to find out the reason why and expand his knowledge that way.
It was time consuming but as a by-product it would present a background to why he knows what he knows. While in truth he found it an interesting way to learn since he basically already has the cheat sheet ready for him.
"I finally found you." Angel stood in front of him.
"Yeah? Did something happen?" Felix asked, a bit concerned.
"You skipped lunch." Angel placed her hands on her hips.
"Oh, that explains why I feel a bit hungry." Felix let out a sigh of relief.
Angel didn't seem amused at his answer or his lack of care. Felix could only awkwardly smile as he saw her glare she gave him. Since for reasons unknown to him Angel and John would take turns watching over him. Not to get them wrong, but the few times they weren't with him, he either got lost or lost track of time. So he was barely arriving at the common room before curfew or going hungry since he would miss a meal.
So the duo tended to keep an eye on him like a toddler at times. Apparently to them, while he is gifted and a genius, he is an idiot when it comes to taking care of himself. How they came to such a conclusion he doesn't know, and he felt he wasn't that bad.
Hence, after tapping the books before him that he was reading with his wand. The books soon began to flap like birds and flew back to their shelves. It was an interesting piece of magic he learned upon seeing Madam Prince, the school librarian do it once.
"It should nearly be time for dinner. Shall we go to the Great Hall?"
"Yes, and Felix take my hand so you don't wander off." Angel said.
