Chapter 23: True Essence of an Architect

After the condition of the two descendants was stabilized, Seraphina could finally relax. She sat on the chair, watching Rey heal.

"The two of them barely awakened, and they are already so fierce. It seems like I will be extremely busy this year." She let out a sigh. "There goes my peaceful life."

She talked to herself, bringing out the cup of tea that was still warm and fresh.

Although the atmosphere was not as relaxing anymore, it was still better than nothing. She had a feeling that this was probably the most peaceful it was going to be this year, as another Ashborn beast had arrived.

"They say that history finds a way of repeating itself. I really hope I don't witness the birth of another Aliath Ashborn," she mumbled before taking a sip of the tea that didn't feel sweet anymore.

....

Elias was floating in the tank, where the blue liquid had almost turned transparent, as if all the medical efficacy had been used to heal him.

Even though he was not as badly hurt as Rey, his body still greedily devoured the essence faster than Esterin did. Not only did his body heal his wounds, but his weakened state was also gone.

His body didn't look as fair as before. Finally, he looked more like a descendant of a decent family.

It was said that he would wake up within five minutes. However, only a minute had passed when he suddenly opened his eyes.

He found himself floating in a liquid that felt like water but was denser. He didn't panic. If it was dangerous, he would have already been dead after all.

Through the liquid and glass, he looked at his surroundings and saw he was alone in a room. There was no one else there.

He was surprised that he was able to breathe inside the liquid. His body had never felt better.

He looked at his arms. Previously, it had looked like he had nothing but bones. There was no mass on his body. But now, he looked like a normal twelve-year-old was supposed to look.

He touched his chest and noticed that there were no wounds. All his wounds had healed and it didn't hurt anymore.

'Is this thing used for healing?' he thought, as he reached out his hand to grip the top of the tank's walls. He pushed his body up and jumped out.

He was already bare-chested, as his clothes were torn apart in the battle. Only his pants were somewhat intact. The first thing he did after getting out of the regeneration tank was check his pockets.

Only after he verified that the two vials were still there was he relieved. He really wanted to try merging with them, especially since the first merger had already helped him a lot. He wanted to see how this merger could change him for the better.

Still, he controlled his urges and didn't bring out the vials here. Although the room felt empty, he couldn't be certain that there was no one here.

If there was any place which could ensure some semblance of privacy, it was the toilet. He was sure that if there was a room, there was going to be a toilet here as well.

There were two doors in this room, both being made from some unknown metal. He ignored the bigger door as that felt like the exit of the room. He selected the other metallic door.

The door didn't have any doorknob, or any handle to hold it. He wasn't even sure how to open it. Did he have to push it? Fortunately, he didn't have to think much about it. The moment he reached near the door, the door slid open as if it was mechanically operated.

Looking at the door, Elias felt quite interested. Although earth also had doors like these, something was really fascinating for him about these mechanical things.

He didn't have time to waste so he didn't think much about it. He stepped inside the toilet, that was just as grand. It was one tenth the size of the room where he came from, but it didn't mean it was small.

The toilet was five meters wide and seven meters long with almost all facilities, including shower and bathtubs. There was also a small glass room which he didn't understand the purpose of.

He didn't think much about it and pulled out one of the vials at random from his pocket. It was a light brown vial, which contained the Dust of Creation. He opened the vial and a thick scent spread out. The scent felt similar to the scent of wet sand.

........

Material: Dust of Creation

Weight: 1 Gram

Material Stability: 100 Percent

Merger Possibility: High Possibility

........

He was relieved to see that the merger of this material was highly possible. Just like before, he tapped his chest and said, "Confirm Merger."

He braced himself for another storm, and closed his eyes. He was prepared for the pain, but to his surprise, no pain came. Even the storm was nowhere to be seen.

He opened his eyes, and was greeted with something unexpected.

........

Materials selected are incompatible. Please select another material.

........

"Huh?" Elias looked on in disbelief. This was the first time he had encountered the incompatibility. Was he not compatible with this merger? Then what could he even use it for?

He kept the vials back in his pocket and opened the next vial, which contained the Essence of Lightning. He again tried to merge it with himself.

........

Materials selected are incompatible. Please select another material.

........

"Just what is this?" Once again, the same rejection came. His body wasn't compatible with these materials.

"Do I have to use it on some lifeless material?" he frowned, lost in deep thought. "Or do I need to create something else with these materials?"

At that moment, he didn't realise that it was with this thought, he came across the true essence of his Class. His fate was shifted to a different path, one that was going to change the universe forever.
