Zane faced me, his expression softening. "Darling, I've eliminated the obstacle between us. Nothing stands in our way now," he murmured, reaching for my hand.
I recoiled, glaring coldly at him. "Don't you dare touch me, Zane! We're finished!" I hissed.
He moved closer, shaking his head. "No, my love. It's not over. We can try for another baby, and I'll ensure nothing ever comes between us again. Please," he begged, his voice quivering with desperation.
I stared at him in disbelief. "Try again? You want me to try again? My uterus is irreparably damaged! I can never bear another child!"
He persisted, "But it's still possible. The healers said that last time, and you still conceived. It could happen again, we can create another!" He attempted to grasp my hand once more.
I retreated, scowling. "This isn't like before. The healers said it would be challenging last time, but now it's impossible!"
