Ch 211 : Wish

Mulling over how to handle the child growing in Mikoto's womb, Makoto had been deep in thought for a long time.

Let the child call Fugaku "father" and be raised by him?

Makoto felt that, although he could be pretty twisted at times, he hadn't reached that level of depravity.

After all, it was his child, and the child deserved everything they were entitled to.

Fugaku had already been reassigned to a remote location, far away from Mikoto and the child.

The key problem was—how would he explain this to Ayari?

If it had been Kushina who was pregnant, Makoto figured it would be much easier to explain.

But Mikoto was a married woman—wouldn't that make him a homewrecker and a scumbag?

Once Ayari found out, there would inevitably be a huge uproar.

Just thinking about it gave Makoto a headache.

There was also another issue—after the child was born, if it turned out to be a boy, should he still be named Sasuke?

The name "Sasuke" came from the father of the Third Hokage, and it was clear that Fugaku had chosen the name as a way to curry favor with the Third.

If he used the same name, how was he supposed to explain it?

But if he chose a different name, it would feel a bit strange.

......

Hokage Residence

"Sister?"

Unable to find Ayano in the living room, Ayari headed toward her sister's bedroom, calling out as she walked.

When she pushed the door open, Ayano was startled, hastily trying to hide something.

"Why don't you knock?" Ayano said, clearly flustered, her tone carrying a hint of reproach.

Although she held a servant-like status in the household, as Ayari's elder sister, she didn't treat Ayari with the same deference she showed toward Makoto.

Ayari, however, looked at her suspiciously. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing."

Ayari was unconvinced by her sister's evasive demeanor.

She stepped forward quickly, while Ayano kept retreating.

"What are you hiding?" Ayari pressed.

Ayano tried to change the subject. "Nothing. Did you need something from me?"

But Ayari wasn't about to let it go.

She suddenly lunged forward, attempting to grab the item in Ayano's hand.

Startled, Ayano dodged frantically, causing the item to fall to the floor with a clatter.

Both of them looked down—it was a white object.

Ayari picked it up and realized it was a pregnancy test.

She glanced at the result: one line.

Ayano looked a bit embarrassed, her gaze shifting to the side.

Ayari sighed, clearly exasperated, and tossed the test back to her.

"I thought it was something interesting."

"..."

Ayano muttered something under her breath, but Ayari couldn't quite catch it.

"What did you say?"

"…Nothing."

Seeing that her secret was already exposed, Ayano no longer felt the need to hide anything.

She casually tossed the pregnancy test and its packaging into the nearby trash bin.

Ayari glanced at her sideways. "What? Thinking about having a child?"

"Can't I?" Ayano countered.

Ayari shrugged with a smile. "Of course, you can. He's always wanted a daughter. If you give him a daughter, he'll be over the moon."

Ayano had no interest in having a daughter; she wanted a son.

She believed that women in this world had too bitter a fate.

It would be better to have a boy.

Besides, the Hyuga Clan was different now.

As the Hokage's son, even if her child couldn't surpass Neji in status, he would never be bullied.

She also wanted this child to secure her position.

Her delayed period this month had given her high hopes, only to end in disappointment once again.

Was her body letting her down? How could Ayari get pregnant while she couldn't?

Noticing Ayano's gloomy expression, Ayari sighed and said, "Alright, just talk it over with him. If he really wants you to have a child, let him stay in your room during your fertile days."

Ayano was stunned for a moment, then her face lit up with joy. "Really? Thank you, Ayari!"

She spread her arms to hug her younger sister, but Ayari pushed her away in disdain.

This time, however, Ayano was unusually persistent, forcefully pulling her into a tight embrace and rubbing her face against hers.

Ayari found it both annoying and amusing.

She couldn't help thinking how absurd it was to be discussing such matters with her own sister.

Letting them both serve the same husband... That scoundrel Makoto was practically living like a king.

The mention of pregnancy suddenly made Ayari thoughtful.

She was well aware of Makoto's beautiful secretary.

Although she turned a blind eye to it outside the house, the thought still lingered.

But what if that guy got another woman pregnant and it caused a stir at home?

The more Ayari thought about it, the more plausible it seemed, and the angrier she became, as if it had already happened.

That damn guy! She'd already tolerated the situation with her sister, and yet he was still messing around outside?

Grinding her teeth, Ayari fumed internally.

"What's wrong, Ayari?" Ayano, still holding her, asked.

Ayari huffed heavily. "I'm just realizing I've been way too lenient with him!"

Ayano's expression became a bit unnatural.

She felt as though Ayari's words were implying something.

"I'm not talking about you, sis."

"..."

Ayari suddenly asked, "Have you met his secretary?"

Ayari hadn't met Samui.

Back when Makoto worked from home, he had brought Samui along.

But since Ayari stayed in the front yard and Samui in the back, Ayari, being proud of her status, had no intention of going out of her way to meet that little vixen.

Ayano nodded.

Ayari asked, "What does she look like?"

Hearing this, Ayano's gaze suddenly shifted to Ayari's chest, contemplating something.

Ayari felt uncomfortable under her stare. "What are you looking at?"

Ayano replied, "That girl is indeed very beautiful... and she has a great figure. The kind that men all like."

When Ayari heard the mention of "great figure," she immediately understood what Ayano had just been looking at and glared at her.

Even though they were twin sisters, Ayari's chest size was worlds apart from her sister's.

Sometimes she couldn't help but wonder if the reason Makoto often went to Ayano was because of that difference.

In the evening, Makoto came home.

The atmosphere at the dinner table was a bit strange.

Ayari took the initiative to say, "Makoto, my sister has something she wants to discuss with you."

Makoto glanced at Ayano and then said to Ayari, "I also have something I want to discuss with you."

"Then talk to my sister first. I'm done eating," Ayari said as she put down her chopsticks and left to check on Neji.

Only Makoto and Ayano remained at the table.

"What do you want to talk about?"

Ayano looked a bit embarrassed.

She lowered her head and remained silent for a long time.

Makoto sighed. "Speak."

"I... I want to..."

"Want what? If it's something available in the village, you can just buy it. If the village doesn't have it, send someone outside to get it."

"No, I want... a child."

"..."

Makoto was stunned, looking at the beautiful woman before him.

"Did you talk to Ayari about this?"

"Yes..."

"What did she say?"

"She agreed... and even said she'd create opportunities for us."

Makoto fell into thought, his expression becoming conflicted.

At this rate, he really was becoming a machine.
