Ch 212 : Bitch

Neji was his child, and in the future, it was possible that Hinata and Hanabi could also be his children.

The child in Mikoto's womb seemed likely to be Sasuke.

If things continued this way, the main characters from the original story might all end up calling him "Dad."

That thought felt truly strange.

Seeing that Makoto had remained silent for a long time, Ayano couldn't help but ask, "Are you unwilling?"

Makoto glanced at her and said, "These things can't be rushed. Just let nature take its course. If you get pregnant, just take good care of yourself and have the baby."

He understood what Ayano really meant.

She claimed she wanted a child, but in truth, she sought a legitimate status.

Hearing his response, Ayano knew he had agreed.

Suppressing her joy, she softly said, "I understand."

After dinner, Makoto went to the nursery, where Ayari and Natsu were playing with little Neji.

Makoto gave Natsu a look, signaling her to leave, and then moved closer.

Ayari glanced at him and asked, "Done talking?"

"Yes, finished."

"What did you say?"

Makoto chuckled, "Can't you already guess?"

Ayari pouted. "How would I know what's going on between the two of you?"

Makoto immediately corrected her, "What do you mean by 'between the two of us'? This is a matter for our whole family."

This time, Ayari didn't argue, simply lowering her head to look at their son.

Little Neji was awake at the moment, his big eyes blinking as he looked at the two of them.

Makoto extended a finger in front of him, and little Neji quickly grabbed it with his two soft, chubby hands.

Makoto gently moved his finger, making Neji giggle.

He suddenly said, "You know, it wouldn't be a bad idea for Neji to have a younger brother. He wouldn't feel lonely in the future."

Ayari replied, "Weren't you the one who wanted a daughter?"

Makoto said, "Whether it's a son or a daughter, as long as they're my child, I'll love them the same."

"Then go have one with my sister. I didn't stop you."

"We'll talk about Ayano later; just let things happen naturally."

As Ayari listened, she suddenly sensed something off.

She shot Makoto a sharp, wary look. "Don't even think about me. I'm never having another baby! It hurt like hell last time!"

Makoto gave an awkward laugh. "I never said you had to..."

Ayari was momentarily stunned, unable to figure out what he meant.

Seeing Makoto's hesitant expression, her thoughts raced, and she suddenly imagined a troubling possibility.

Her expression instantly darkened.

She stared at Makoto intensely and demanded, "What was it you were going to tell me at dinner earlier?"

Makoto stammered, "It's just... I was thinking about getting Neji a younger brother."

"..."

Ayari's gaze turned sharp, as if ready to devour him. "Is it that pretty secretary of yours? Did you get her pregnant?"

Makoto immediately denied it. "You're overthinking it! She's way too young. I'd never lay a hand on her."

But Makoto's words only made Ayari's gaze grow colder—she realized there were women she didn't even know about.

Her mind quickly flashed through the beautiful single women around Makoto, suddenly locking onto one figure.

Ayari was startled by her own thought and widened her eyes in disbelief.

"It's not... Kushina, is it?!"

"...No."

Makoto felt a headache coming on.

This woman was frighteningly close to the truth—though Kushina wasn't pregnant yet.

Ayari let out a sigh of relief.

If her best friend had been involved with her husband, she wouldn't know how to cope.

She'd barely accepted the situation with her sister.

Was this guy determined to pick only the people closest to her?

However, relief quickly gave way to a surge of anger.

"Who is it?!"

Makoto was silent for a moment before calmly asking, "Who would you be able to accept?"

Ayari was stunned.

She never expected such an absurd response from him.

Outraged, she flew into a frenzy, swinging her fists at him. "You damn bastard! I'll kill you!"

Makoto quickly said, "Neji... Neji's watching us."

Ayari paused and turned to look at Neji, who wasn't crying or fussing.

At this moment, Makoto shamelessly added, "See? Neji isn't crying—he probably wants a younger brother too."

Ayari was so furious that she laughed, then muttered under her breath, "Get out!"

Makoto tried to say more but was met with a fierce glare.

"Get out now!"

Left with no choice, Makoto stood up and left the nursery.

As he opened the door, he found Natsu leaning against it, clearly eavesdropping, likely drawn by the noise inside.

When she saw Makoto come out, she awkwardly lowered her head and moved aside.

Makoto shot her a glare and ruffled her hair vigorously, leaving it in a mess.

"What are you eavesdropping for?!"

Natsu didn't dare fight back.

After he walked away, she made a face at his back before fixing her hair.

Inside the nursery, Ayari sat motionless beside Neji.

The little boy made a sound and stretched out his hands as if asking for a hug.

Ayari picked up her son, suddenly feeling a deep sense of grievance.

Not only could she not have all of Makoto's love, but even what should belong to Neji was being divided.

That night, when Makoto tried to return to the bedroom, he found the door firmly locked from the inside.

With no other option, he headed to Ayano's room instead.

The next day.

Uchiha Fugaku had left.

He had already informed his clan members, telling them that during his absence, they could approach Uchiha Hachidai for any clan affairs.

Although this was clearly a move by the Hokage to suppress the Uchiha, no one in the clan voiced any complaints.

The Hokage's office had released a statement, claiming that Fugaku's erroneous orders had led to the deaths of five Uchiha ninja.

Uchiha Tetsuhi and Inoka were among the fallen—people well-known to the clan, many of whom had close ties with them.

To the clan members, it seemed reasonable that their leader should be punished for such losses.

After Fugaku's early departure, Ayari suddenly paid a visit to Mikoto's house.

Seeing her friend, Mikoto couldn't help but feel nervous—after all, she was carrying the child of Ayari's husband.

"Ah, Ayari... what brings you here?"

Ayari stormed into the living room, fuming, and plopped down on the couch.

Mikoto, feeling uneasy, wondered if Ayari had found out and come to confront her.

"That bastard really pissed me off!"

Mikoto nervously poured her a glass of water and asked, "Who made you so angry?"

Ayari snorted coldly. "Who else could it be but that bastard?"

She took the water and gulped down most of it in one go.

"What happened?" Mikoto asked cautiously.

Ayari shot her a glance that startled Mikoto.

They were the best of friends, usually sharing everything without secrets.

After a moment of silence, Ayari pursed her lips and said, "That bastard Makoto... got another woman pregnant."

Mikoto's eyes widened, and she froze, unable to move.

Ayari continued angrily, "I knew it! That bastard was never an honest man. I must've been blind to marry him..."

"Mikoto?"

Mikoto snapped back to reality and asked carefully, "You... don't know who the woman is?"

"He wouldn't say. I was wondering if it might be Kushina, but he denied it."

Mikoto cautiously asked, "If it were Kushina... could you accept it?"

Ayari's eyes widened. "Of course not! Kushina is such a good friend—how could she betray me?"

Then she shook her head vigorously. "No, no, Kushina would never do that. If it were her, she must've been forced."

Mikoto couldn't help but think, You really know your man well.

Ayari's gaze turned suspicious as she stared at Mikoto. "What do you mean? Do you know something? It's not Kushina, is it?"

Mikoto frantically shook her head. "No, of course not. I was just asking. You said yourself Kushina wouldn't do such a thing."

Ayari finally breathed a sigh of relief, grabbed a cushion from the couch, and began furiously pounding it.

As she did, she muttered angrily, "That damned bastard! That wretched woman! They better hope I never find out who she is!"

Mikoto: "..."

"Aren't you feeling well, Mikoto? You look a bit off," Ayari asked.

Mikoto forced a smile. "I'm fine... it's just that Fugaku left today."

Ayari was surprised. "Fugaku left? Where did he go?"

Mikoto then explained about Fugaku being reassigned and the official reason behind it.

Hearing this, Ayari didn't know what to say.

"Fugaku probably didn't want this either. It doesn't seem fair to punish him like that. How about I talk to Makoto about it?"

Mikoto shook her head. "No need. This is about the village, and Lord Hokage surely has his reasons. We shouldn't interfere."

"When will Fugaku be back?"

"... I don't know."

Ayari looked at Mikoto and suddenly felt sorry for her, imagining how lonely she might be for a long time.

Feeling compassionate, she got up and hugged her.

"You'll be so bored at home alone. You can always come to see me, and I'll come visit you often too."

Mikoto's expression remained somewhat unnatural, but she forced a smile without saying anything.
