She Took my Memories

Jasper:

I'm trying to process what Jalesa is saying to me but it doesn't seem real.

I'm staring at her with a blank expression. She has her hands clasped together in front of her, looking at me with the same confusion I'm feeling in my soul.

"What do you mean this is my wife and kids?" I ask her, having no recollection of this at all.

"You're scaring me Jasper. How can you not remember? Your wife and kids have been gone many years but it wouldn't be like you to forget this. Maybe I need to call the healer," Jalesa says, before leaving the room.

I don't stop her because I think she might be right. As much as I didn't want her here right now, she seemed to be all that I had in terms of help.

At the same time, I had to admit. Something felt more free inside of me.

Had Pru taken these memories from me? Why would she do that? I wondered to myself.
