"Well that was out of character." Emma turned to Tommy.
"What do you mean?" Tommy asked with a smile.
"Well for one, the fact that you went out of your way to ask the head for something, then asking him if you could go to a party." Emma replied.
"It is not just a party, it's a cooperative party, who knows, I might get to meet some high level people."
"If you say so." Emma said. "Well we should get back to work then." She continued.
They started to go back to their department.
"Yeah but since you plan on going to the party your friend invited you to you can leave work now, I mean it's almost getting dark." Tommy suggested.
"I think you are right, I still need to get home and freshen up, also wear something else." Emma concord.
"Great, well I guess I will just finish up with everything here while you are gone."
"Thanks tommy, you are the best." She said with a bright smile. Seeing her happy and smiling always made him feel really good. I will go get my bag from the office then I'll go." She continued.
They continued to their department, they were almost at the office and Tommy asked, "So what are you going to wear tomorrow?"
"Well I will just wear my usual outfit, my wardrobe isn't that different." She answered.
They got to their office tyeny Emma got her bag from her desk. After she did that, she did not take anytime as she started to leave the office.
"So I guess I will see you tomorrow." Emma turned back and said to Tommy when she was about leaving.
"Yeah." Tommy replied. "And it won't here finally." He said to himself.
"What did you say?"
"Oh sorry it's nothing." He said to her, "Well actually…"
"What is it?"
"Well since we are going to the same place, why don't I come pick you up?" He suggested.
"Alright then, I guess that is a good idea. I mean I don't even know the place yet but I am sure you do right?"
"Ummm…" Tommy stuttered. "Yeah I do, definitely."
Tommy lied to her, he had no idea where the location was but he told himself that he will spend the rest of the day finding out. He was really happy, not only was his going on a supposed date with Emma, he will go to her home to pick her up.
Emma turned back and continued to walk away from the office. She went down through the elevator and now she was in the lobby. Most of the walls in the building were glass so you could see through them.
It was already getting dark and it was already late. She went out of the building and went close to the side walk so she could flag down a taxi. It was now dark and the breeze was blowing, it was cold out.
For some reason there were no taxi around and she started to felt frustrated but that was all she could do so she kept on waiting.
While she was waiting, she noticed something that caught her attention. There were two people next to a car close to the building's parking lot. She looked closely and realized that it was Julian and some other girl.
They were next to a car kissing and holding each other, Emma could tell that the girl is Julian's girlfriend. The whole scene was irritating for her, she never liked public show of affection.
After a while, another car came to where Julian and the girl was and then they stopped kissing. The girl went on to the car that just arrived, she entered it and then the car drove off.
Julian was there alone but then he entered the car that was in front of him, he started the car and began to drive. For some reason, Emma could not stop looking at the car as it drove. The car drove past her slowly and when it did, she got herself and stopped looking at it.
But then the car stopped and started to reverse, she started to wonder why. The car came up to her and stopped.
The window was slowly brought down and now Julian was staring at Emma, she tired as much as she could not to look back but it was hard.
"Hey beautiful, what is someone like you doing standing here all by yourself?" Julian asked.
"I am waiting for a taxi." She hesitated before she replied.
"Well I couldn't help but notice you watching me or something like that." Julian said. "Do you know who I am?"
Emma really hoped that this was not the case but it has already happened, she did not want any unnecessary ideas going through his head so she had to come up with a reasonable reply.
Before she could reply, Julian said, "You are standing here… Do you work in that company behind you?"
"I do." She replied immediately.
"Oh I see, then I guess you know who I am then." He said "Why don't you get into the car, I could drop you off wherever you are going."
Emma had no intention of taking the offer, she knew who he was but she still did not fancy the idea.
"Sorry sir, but I don't want to bother you, I am sure you have important places to be." She tried to sound as formal as she can and also not to seem rude.
"Yeah, well I don't really have anywhere important to be at the moment so you coming with me won't be a problem at all. And you don't possible expect me to see a damsel like you here and not try to help." He said.
The way she imagine him was how he turned out to be, he was flirting with her even after she just saw him with his girlfriend.
"I really don't want to be a burden sir." She said.
"I said I don't mind at all so just c'mon, I don't really see any taxi at the moment."
He was right, there was no taxi in the area at the moment and if she keeps on waiting, she would wait for a long while and she has to be at the party.
She did not want to enter the car but she thought about it for a while, Julian is practically her boss and if she refuses him too much, he might not take it well and plus she would not have to wait for a taxi.
"Alright then, you can drop me off." She finally agreed.
