Amelia's face lit up upon seeing Edward enter the living room. She exclaimed with excitement, mentioning how his arrival was perfectly timed as they were just about to settle on a date for the engagement. After some deliberation, they decided the engagement would take place the day after tomorrow. Harry and Amy were visibly thrilled, their joy contagious among the gathering.

Aaron, noticing Evelyn's absence, inquired about her whereabouts to Mike. Wondering why she wasn’t part of the celebration, he received an unexpected response. Mike and Erica began complaining about Evelyn's apparent irresponsibility, forgetting that they were the ones who had sent her to her room earlier. Adding to the negative sentiments, Amelia joined in, suggesting they could do without her presence.

Listening to the criticism against Evelyn, Aaron silently hoped that her parents would try to understand her before it was too late. Amy, influenced by her parents and Amelia, echoed their sentiments, which disappointed Harry. He attempted to defend Evelyn, only to be silenced by his mother. Regretting his inability to stand up for Evelyn, especially knowing that she was the reason for this upcoming wedding, Harry found himself unable to voice his support for her.

Sensing the escalating tension, Amelia decided it was time to end the discussion. The Smith Family prepared to leave, promising to meet again soon as they bid farewell. However, before departing, Mike, visibly frustrated, demanded information about Evelyn. Unconcerned about Evelyn's well-being, Erica curtly informed Mike that Evelyn was still in her room.
