Chapter 87: Nano Vibranium Spider Suit

Worried that Peter might refuse, Princess Shuri took out a test tube and said, "How about this? We've been looking into quantum energy research and working on a more advanced healing solution for T'Challa. We need more quantum energy, so we'll buy it at a rate of $100 million per tube. How does that sound?"

Her last sentence was directed not only at Peter but also at T'Challa.

T'Challa nodded. "After this experience, I've gained a deeper understanding of the mysteries of the quantum realm. And to be honest, I'm quite interested in it as well."

Turning to Peter, he continued, "So, if you're open to it, why don't we establish a collaboration? We'll invest capital, and you'll contribute quantum energy as a technical partner. Together, we can form a research team dedicated to studying quantum energy and exploring the quantum realm. As for this suit, consider it both a gift from a friend and a security measure for you as a shareholder. After all, if something happens to you, we have no other way to acquire quantum energy."

Princess Shuri chuckled. "If that happens, the elders won't let T'Challa off the hook so easily. This is a business worth at least several hundred billion dollars!"

"Well, in that case…" Peter accepted the generous gift from the royal siblings with a nod.

Since they had already laid things out so clearly, it would be unnecessary for him to keep hesitating.

Besides, it made sense.

Vibranium was considered priceless to the outside world—so rare it was practically unobtainable.

But for Wakanda, which possessed an entire mountain of vibranium—one that was rumored to be a renewable resource—a vibranium suit was hardly a big deal.

In fact, to them, the vibranium itself was likely less valuable than the technology applied to the suit!

Peter then began making some fine-tuned adjustments to the Vibranium Spider Suit.

The overall design remained consistent with his previous advanced suit, but the vibranium metal gave it a colder, sleeker aesthetic.

Strangely enough, Peter found himself rather liking the look.

The suit's surface was first given a matte finish. Then, referencing the classic red-and-blue color scheme, he applied a fresh coat using a special type of colored metal.

This metal was said to be a vibranium byproduct—not as extraordinary as pure vibranium, but it had the advantage of being ground into a fine powder, which could be used like pigment to add color or improve texture and protection in certain areas.

Once the coloring was complete, the suit looked almost identical to Peter's previous one at first glance.

Well… not exactly. There was one notable difference.

Since vibranium couldn't produce a pure white color, Peter had to slightly modify the large spider emblem on the chest.

Under normal circumstances, the emblem appeared golden.

However, when the vibranium suit's energy absorption mode was activated, the golden spider emblem would gradually shift to a vibrant purple.

Additionally, many of the web-like patterns across the suit were also golden.

With its red-and-blue base and golden accents, the suit looked like a fusion of the Advanced Suit and the Black and Gold Suit.

Perhaps he could call it the Blue-Gold Suit?

T'Challa then introduced Peter to the features of the Vibranium Spider Suit.

First and foremost, it was a nano suit—just like T'Challa's own Black Panther suit.

In its dormant state, the nano vibranium particles were stored within a spider-shaped gemstone pendant on a necklace. The pendant itself was quite stylish.

But for some reason, Peter found the whole thing a little weird.

It was simply a difference in perspective.

For someone like T'Challa, a king, such accessories were just part of everyday attire—nothing out of the ordinary.

But for Peter, who had only recently been an ordinary civilian, wearing a gemstone the size of a pigeon's egg around his neck felt a bit… excessive.

Mostly, it was because he wasn't the type to flaunt wealth or attract attention.

Fortunately, since it was a necklace, he could just keep it tucked under his shirt most of the time.

When needed, simply press the button on the necklace, and the armor will automatically integrate—no, wait, it's more like the suit will arm itself.

Hmm, well, you get the idea.

Next, let's talk about its functionality.

Peter's previous suit had a similar ability, where some of the mechanical energy from his movements was converted into electrical energy. A portion of this powered the suit's internal intelligent system, while the rest was converted into chemical energy stored within the suit.

When necessary, this chemical energy would be converted back into electrical energy and released, creating an effect similar to an electric shock.

Now, the Nano Vibranium Spider Suit stores energy in a different way.

It utilizes the energy absorption properties of vibranium, specifically its ability to absorb kinetic energy (or mechanical energy), storing the energy in the suit. When needed, the energy can be released all at once.

Each method has its pros and cons.

The first method, which converts electrical energy into more easily stored chemical energy, allows the energy to be stored for longer periods.

The second method, on the other hand, leaves the energy as kinetic energy, which isn't stored, but simply temporarily absorbed.

This means the stored kinetic energy can only be released in a short burst, or it will dissipate.

But there's an advantage to this as well.

Vibranium is a strange metal. Unlike large atomic elements that are radioactive, its electrons don't move, which means the vibranium molecules are effectively at 0 Kelvin (absolute zero) temperature.

Because the molecules lack movement at the molecular scale, the vibranium can't transmit force in the physical sense.

This is why it's considered one of the most durable materials in the Marvel Universe.

In simple terms, it's unbeatable in defense.

When applied to offense, however, because it doesn't transmit force, it allows the absorbed kinetic energy to be used without loss.

For instance, if a missile hits the suit, Peter could collect all the kinetic energy from the missile, including the energy from the explosion, and release it by using his fists or body, creating a powerful punch.

True missile punch.

It's similar to the legendary technique "Dou Zhan Xing Yi" or the Tai Chi concept of using an opponent's force against them.

It's a type of power that grows stronger when faced with greater strength.

Lastly, let's talk about the weapon system of the Nano Vibranium Spider Suit.

T'Challa's Black Panther suit doesn't have a weapon system. The closest thing to a weapon is probably the retractable claws on his hands.

But they didn't add claws to Peter's suit—after all, it would be pretty weird to have a spider suit with claws.

So, Princess Shuri had a sudden idea.

Instead of claws on the hands, why not add spider legs to the back?

And so, four spider legs were added to the back of the suit.

These legs were also made from vibranium!

One word:

Cool!

...Well, it took all night to write this, but with the free chapter posted earlier in the morning, I guess it counts as a bit of a bonus update. I'll try to maintain a daily output of around 6,000 words from now on.
