Chapter 103: The Extraordinary Spider-Man

A single lamp illuminated the room.

On the desk, an open notebook fluttered in the breeze, clearly abandoned by its owner.

Not far from the desk, a handsome young man sat shirtless on the sofa.

A blonde beauty leaned over him, supporting herself with one hand as she gazed at him.

Their posture appeared intimate, but a closer look would reveal otherwise.

A gruesome wound stretched across the young man's chest, nearly spanning its entire width.

The blonde woman carefully tended to it, dabbing at the injury with gauze, her face filled with distress.

The young man, however, seemed unfazed. He merely chuckled, as if trying to comfort his anxious lover with his laughter.

After some time, the blood oozing from his wound had been cleaned away.

Seeing the concern on her face, the young man couldn't help but snatch the gauze from her hands and toss it aside before pulling her into his embrace.

"Don't worry, I'm fine," he reassured her.

Before he could finish speaking, the blonde woman silenced him with a kiss.

Their passionate embrace deepened, an exploration of each other that left them both breathless.

"I really am fine, Gwen," the young man said, locking eyes with his lover.

But his words, combined with the sight of his wound, only made her worry more.

"You know... ever since I was little, every morning when I saw my father put on his badge and holster his gun before heading out, I would always worry. Worry about whether he would ever..."

And now, she had one more person to worry about.

Her boyfriend.

Peter Parker.

And unlike her father, Peter's "work" seemed even more dangerous.

Because he didn't just fight criminals—he fought monsters.

Because he was Spider-Man.

Hearing the concern in his girlfriend's voice, the young man, known as "Garfield Spider," gently cupped her face in his hands. Looking into her eyes, he said firmly, "It's dangerous, I know. But I have to stop him. Because I created him!"

Gwen looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean?"

Garfield Spider explained, "Dr. Connors' research had already hit a dead end. Oscorp was planning to shut down his experiments. But I—I gave him a formula. A formula I found among my father's old belongings. It was part of his research on cross-species genetics, something he had hidden away."

"I never understood why. But now, after seeing what Dr. Connors has become, I think I finally get it. My father hid it because it was never meant to exist in this world!"

"But now that it's out because of me, I have a responsibility to make sure it disappears again! Stopping him—stopping Dr. Connors—is my responsibility!"

"I have to stop him!"

Garfield Spider's voice carried unwavering determination.

His conviction moved Gwen.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the darkness—

Three figures soared through the night.

Two of them, Peter and Gwen, swung forward using their webs.

Above them, flying through the sky, was the Vulture in his brown leather suit.

Just minutes ago, the trio had arrived in this world.

Using their usual method, Peter had quickly connected his wrist communicator to this world's network and begun searching for both recent and historical data.

The main keyword they searched for was "Spider-Man."

To their surprise, information about Spider-Man didn't even require much searching—it popped up immediately.

The latest news prominently featured a report about Spider-Man.

Earlier that day, on a major suspension bridge in New York, a massive humanoid lizard-like creature had appeared.

It went on a rampage, attacking vehicles on the bridge and putting countless innocent lives at risk.

At that moment, a man clad in a Spider-Man suit arrived at the scene, bravely engaging the monstrous lizard in battle and ultimately defeating it.

Not only that, but he also saved several vehicles that had been flung off the bridge, rescuing many more people.

To many, this Spider-Man was a true hero—after all, he had saved so many lives.

However, some saw him as a monster, believing that only a monster could go toe-to-toe with another monster.

Regardless of the differing opinions, Peter had already gathered the information he needed.

It was now clear—this was the world of The Amazing Spider-Man. But Peter was more accustomed to calling him "Garfield Spider" or "Andrew Spider."

This version was the second live-action adaptation from his original universe, and in terms of quality, it was nearly on par with the first version featuring "Tobey Spider."

Some people preferred the first version, while others favored the second.

And then there were those like Peter, who loved both equally.

After all, both iterations had their own unique charm.

However, the Amazing Spider-Man movies also left many unresolved regrets.

The biggest heartbreak of all?

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Amazing Gwen died.

For so many fans, she had been their ultimate dream girl—their irreplaceable first love.

Peter glanced at the Gwen beside him and said, "Gwen, aren't you curious about what another Gwen Stacy would be like in a parallel universe?"

Gwen nodded but then suddenly realized something, her expression turning to surprise. "Wait... are you saying there's another me in this world?"

Peter chuckled and nodded. "Unless something unexpected happened, then yes, there should be another Gwen Stacy in this world. But she's her, and you're you. Just like how we met Shadow-Mr. Parker and the Peter Parker of that world—they all share the same name and are all Spider-Man, yet their ages, life experiences, and relationships are all different."

"The most important part of who we are isn't our name—it's our memories. It's the environment we grew up in, the experiences we've had, and everything that has shaped us."

Gwen smiled softly. "You don't have to explain so much—I already understand. I was just curious… So, in this world, is there a Peter Parker? Is Spider-Man Gwen or Peter?"

"It's Peter," Peter replied.

Gwen nodded thoughtfully.

After finishing their conversation, they followed the guidance of their Spider-Sense toward a particular direction.

The Spider-Sense was truly an enigmatic ability.

Most of the time, it functioned as a danger-warning system.

But sometimes, it seemed to grant brief glimpses into the future—like the Observation Haki from One Piece, used by Katakuri.

And on other occasions, it could serve as an inexplicable form of intuition, guiding them toward something unseen.

Back in the Ultimate Universe, Gwen had used this very ability to locate Miles Morales' school.

And now, Peter and Gwen followed that same instinct—

To find Garfield Spider!
