"Is that... Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy from this world?" Gwen asked in surprise as she peered through the window.
Peter nodded.
Gwen was stunned for a moment before murmuring in an odd tone, "I didn't expect them to be lovers in this world..."
Peter silently thought to himself, If nothing unexpected happened, that would have been the case in your world too.
To Peter, the relationship between Gwen and Peter Parker in her world was similar to the main couple in The Flash TV series.
The male lead had been raised in the female lead's home since childhood. They were childhood sweethearts, and no matter how many ups and downs they went through, they would eventually end up together.
But then, something went wrong.
For some reason, Gwen had become Spider-Woman—Peter had asked her about it before, but she could only say that it happened inexplicably, as if she was suddenly bitten by a spider out of nowhere.
And Peter Parker, the supposed "male lead," had instead turned into a villain, nothing more than a stepping stone in her journey to becoming a hero.
Everything changed the moment Gwen became Spider-Woman.
Peter couldn't help but recall the strange "Spider-Man fate theory."
It seemed that every Spider-Person had to experience the loss of someone incredibly important to them before they could truly become a hero—except for a few rare exceptions, like the 1994 Animated Series' Iron Spider.
Of course, he wasn't about to bring that up now.
No matter what kind of relationship Gwen and her world's Peter had in the past, and no matter whether that so-called "fate" had played a role in what happened to them—
From the moment they parted ways in the Ultimate Universe, Peter had already regarded Gwen as the most important person in his life.
As long as Gwen didn't leave him, he would never leave her.
And if "fate" dared to interfere—he would fight it!
"Let's go meet this world's Peter and Gwen," Peter said, extending his hand toward Gwen.
Gwen grasped his hand without hesitation.
Above them, Vulture—perched idly on the rooftop—rolled his eyes and went back to mindlessly picking at his toes.
Left scratch, right scratch…
Peter and Gwen leaped effortlessly from their vantage point, landing on the fire escape outside Gwen Stacy's room.
The unmistakable thud of their landing startled the two people inside.
"Who's there?" Amazing Gwen immediately sprang off Garfield Spider and instinctively grabbed a pair of scissors from the coffee table.
Garfield Spider gently took the scissors from Gwen's hand and set them back down before stepping in front of her protectively, adopting a fighting stance.
"Hey! Creeping outside someone's window? Not cool," he said. "If you leave now, we can pretend this never happened."
A voice, eerie and drawn-out, responded from outside:
"Peter, Peter, Peter... poor Peter. Too trusting, handing over the zero decay rate formula—only to turn Connors into the Lizard!"
The words sent a shock through Garfield Spider.
The stranger had spoken of something he had done recently, something no one else should have known about.
Even Gwen had only just learned about it!
Had this person been hiding outside this whole time?
But then—why hadn't his Spider-Sense warned him?
"Alright, Peter, don't scare them," Gwen said with amusement, playfully patting Peter on the shoulder before stepping into the light.
She walked up to the window, fully revealing herself to the couple inside.
"Hello, Peter Parker. Hello, Gwen Stacy," she said with a warm smile, waving. "My name is Gwen Stacy, and I'm from another world."
"Gwen Stacy?!!"
Garfield Spider stared in shock at the Gwen outside the window, then turned to glance at his own girlfriend.
The two looked completely different.
Although Amazing Gwen was only eighteen, her features were more mature, exuding an air of intelligence and sophistication—like a well-educated young lady from a prestigious family.
On the other hand, Spider-Gwen had a youthful vibrancy, perhaps due to the enhancements from her spider genes. Years of combat had also given her a wild, untamed beauty.
Her outfit was distinct as well, carrying the bold and rebellious flair of a rock-and-roll girl.
To someone with traditional tastes, this style might not be appealing, but among younger crowds, it was undoubtedly attractive.
So, while both were named "Gwen Stacy," they felt more like two completely different individuals who just happened to share the same name.
Beyond their names, they hardly had anything in common.
But perhaps that wasn't surprising.
If you were to search your own name online, you'd find countless people with the same name—so why should it be any different in a multiverse?
If anything, the differences should be even more pronounced.
After all, having the same name doesn't make two people identical.
Amazing Gwen stepped closer to the window, her gaze fixed on the Gwen in the spider suit. "So, your name is Gwen Stacy too? But… from another world? Then why are you wearing..."
She gestured toward Spider-Gwen's outfit, her expression filled with confusion.
Spider-Gwen smiled and replied, "Because in my world, I'm Spider-Man—or rather, Spider-Woman. You can call me Spider-Gwen."
Had she been in her own universe, she would never have revealed her identity so easily.
But here, in a completely different world—and with Peter by her side—she felt at ease. There was no hesitation in her words.
At that moment, Peter stepped out from the window's blind spot, finally revealing himself.
"Hello, you two," he greeted. "My name is Peter, but you can call me Time-Space Spider-Man."
To make his introduction more convincing, Peter didn't retract his nanotech Vibranium spider suit entirely—he merely deactivated his helmet, keeping the rest of the suit visible.
Seeing the two of them standing together, clad in their respective spider suits like a perfect heroic duo, Amazing Gwen couldn't help but feel a twinge of admiration in her eyes.
If only she could be of more help to her own Peter...
"You… You guys…" Garfield Spider was at a loss for words, unsure of how to react.
Surprisingly, Amazing Gwen was the first to regain her composure.
She quickly pulled up the window. "Why don't you come in and have a seat?"
Peter and Gwen didn't hesitate, climbing inside.
Peter found it a bit amusing. He had always wondered why people in England—or at least in movies and games—seemed to prefer climbing fire escapes and sneaking in through windows rather than using the front door.
Even in video games, it was common to leap out of windows for a quick disguise change instead of simply walking through a doorway.
As they settled in, Amazing Gwen asked, "So, what brings you to our world? Sightseeing? Or is there something else?"
Garfield Spider, who had been pulling on his shirt, paused and turned his attention toward them as well.
Peter explained, "Actually, another universe is currently facing a crisis that threatens the existence of all life. I was in the middle of fighting that battle when a sorcerer sent me away to gather reinforcements."
"A crisis?" Amazing Gwen frowned slightly and instinctively moved in front of Garfield Spider, her stance shifting into one of subtle vigilance.
"You want Peter to go with you?" she asked cautiously.
