Balqis

Three days later.

Yasuo's face was twitching in different ways as he ate a chunk of meat he had recently half-cooked after killing a frost wolf,' Disgusting, but better than starving.'

In almost one week and a half, he found no sort of animal, whether it be mutated or ordinary.

Yasuo had even felt that wolves were the only thing that existed in this forest.

He had been looking around from time to time, using qi to fulfill his needs, but as a qi condensation, such a thing was impossible to keep doing for more than a week, so he was forced to go hunt some wolves.

'My dantian is still only 30% filled, sigh,' He was genuinely helpless about this situation and could only keep learning the martial arts he got from that man while slowly gathering qi to breakthrough.

Suddenly, Yasuo's breath stopped momentarily as he looked at a girl's figure in front of him that appeared out of nowhere. His hair stood on end, and even his body slightly shook.

'I'm done for!' Alarms went off inside of his head, telling him to get the fuck out of this place as fast as possible, but his body didn't react in the slightest; it was like he was frozen on his spot.

"Here you are, sword; I have been looking for you for days now," The woman approached Yasuo till she was a few centimeters away from him as she said, gently hitting him on his forehead with her index finger.

"I...I..." Yasuo tried to think of something but could not find any words. He knew nothing of this world, so he uttered the obvious:" I got lost."

The woman wore remarkably white armor, and one could tell it was high quality at a glance. It even radiated an aura that threatened Yasuo. Like a warrior goddess, she had a stimulating and charming body with sharp brows and bright eyes and black hair and pupils.

"Lost? If the master finds out the reason you were late for gathering your portion of meat is getting lost, he will kill you Sword. Never say that in front of him; just tell him that you took a while because a strong pack of wolves was chasing you for some time." The woman instructed seriously, her face full of worry.

Yasuo obediently nodded his head.

"Let's go now; I'll gather your portion on our way to the clan," Without asking for permission, she grabbed Yasuo by his wrist, then slightly bent her knees and jumped.

'Cultivators can do this?' Yasuo was dumbfounded as he saw the scenery in front of him suddenly change in the blink of an eye, and he looked at the ground.

If he estimated correctly, this was hundreds of meters off the ground, yet the woman effortlessly made such a jump.

'I wonder the rank of her cultivation technique,' He couldn't help but have such thoughts.

"There, that should be enough for your portion," the woman said, pointing at a pack of ten wolves. Without even scrutinizing their strength, she tapped her feet in the air and headed directly toward it like a missile.

Yasuo cursed his luck as he quickly circulated qi into his whole body while mainly focusing on his right arm, afraid that it might separate from his body.

'Is this even cultivation in the first place?' Yasuo saw people flying and knew such a thing was attainable for any cultivation path, but the woman right now wasn't just flying but was instead walking in the air. Her flexibility was so high that Yasuo didn't doubt he would lose to her in a matter of seconds if he was the dark mage and fought in the sky.

Two months later.

Yasuo and Balqis sat opposite each other.

"From now on, you should move to Frost Pavilion to live there with me and the clan leader," Balqis's mouth twitched slightly.

These words implied that Balqis had no more to teach Yasuo after only two months and that all that responsibility would now fall on her clan leader.

There was no helping it.

Sword's talent had shifted entirely from low to heavenly all of a sudden, learning anything that came his way like a glutton; nothing seemed to be complicated to him except sky steps martial arts, but even that he almost perfected.

He even began teaching her some new forms of cultivation that left her speechless.

In the beginning, Balqis could still offer some guidance to her fellow slaves since they came from the same empire in their world. She could help him whenever he made a mistake and cover for him.

But after a few days, something felt amiss about Sword.

His overbearing was utterly different, and his character seemed to become a hundred times more responsible and wary of the situation, so much so that he even surpassed all other slaves and finally reached the same level.

An Emissary!

Balqis didn't panic or anything of that sort since situations were 'wastes' like herself, Sword, and many others had such a sudden shift in personality and even talent in several cases.

This world was hell for them but also full of opportunities, so there was nothing to doubt since people change overnight all the time.

"Frost Pavilion?"

Yasuo's eyes shone with a faint light.

The Frost Pavilion was where the leader of the Vethas clan practiced martial arts and stored cultivation techniques that no human slaves could access.

It was an absolutely critical and vital place for frost giants, and Yasuo had tried so hard to reach that place since he was brought there. Regardless of his desires, Balqis kept telling him that he wasn't yet ready and needed a better cultivation base to at least meet the basic requirements of Vethas.

Thinking about the day of his arrival, Yasuo felt a sense of dread wash over him.
