Chapter 28 - Restless Days

Isabella’s POV

My ability to sleep was put to the test over the next three days. I’d never need one for napping, and my sleep during the night was fitful at best. No matter how hard I tried, my mind simply wouldn’t quiet.

So I now spent my days—as much as one could when they were sleep-deprived—to put together the jumbled pieces of information I’d managed to gather from different sources.

My primary goal had been to find out who had wanted me dead and why, so I could eventually save myself and Ethan, who had put his life at risk while attempting to save me.

Aside from James’ motive and the fire, the current situation with Eva was the most concerning. The major events of my past life were still unfolding. Simply differently than they previously had.
