RELIVING EVERYTHING

~{FRANCES' POV}~

*

My hands went still as my eyes widened in horror.

What exactly was going on?

The chants were so loud and before I knew it, I began to bang against the coffin again while calling Logan's name until it broke and a heap of sand poured into the coffin, making me feel suffocated.

The more I tried to look for a possible way to breathe, the more I felt like my lungs were blocked by the soil.

Having no other choice, I had to dig myself all the way to the top and every push through the soil felt like I was dying. It was frustrating and frightening at the same time.

By the time I pushed my hand forward and felt nothing but breeze, a sense of relief washed over me and my hope got renewed.

In a hurry, I pushed some more until I was finally at the surface and I didn't hesitate to take in a lot of air into my lungs. And while inhaling and exhaling, I looked around and noticed that everywhere was dark, meaning it was night.

The chants increased and I looked in a specific direction and from afar, I saw a dust-like sparkly bright yellow smoke coming out a chimney.

"Strange," I said and dragged the remaining half of my body out of the coffin.

Once I had gotten out, my body felt strange, like it didn't belong to me.

As I looked down, my eyes widened and I screamed at the top of my voice.

I couldn't move for fear that I would harm myself. This was what they truly called a nightmare and I felt my breath get caught in my throat.

Tears filled my eyes once more and I forced myself to look away while constantly telling myself I was just hallucinating.

And while my eyes were shut, I heard a cringy sound and was forced to open my eyes and stare down at my body again. Lo and behold, it was fixing itself back.

I gasped and sobbed as my body shivered.

"Logan! Logan, what are you doing to me!" I screamed and quickly looked away from my body because it was terrible to look at.

From my chest downward was completely skeletal and decayed but thankfully it had begun to repair itself.

"Logan!!! Logan!!!!" The more I called his name the more I got angry.

How could he do this to me?

Why was he punishing me when I did nothing wrong?

"Logan! Stop this!"

I didn't know how long I screamed but he never showed up and when I looked down at my body, flesh had covered it and it was back to normal.

For a moment I just stood there staring at it with teary eyes.

".... Should a hobgoblin answer looking for fun, just how fast can your little legs go?..."

As if it was a reminder, I looked in the direction again and quickly wiped the tears from my eyes so I could focus.

The more I watched the smoke-like yellow dust, the more I felt some sort of familiarity.

Like a daze, I followed it.

*******

When I got to the house at which the yellow smoke went out the chimney, I went completely still.

It was Rene's apartment.

Suddenly, I heard a threatening growl and when I looked to see what it was, I went still but strangely, it wasn't growling at me.

Following its line of sight, I noticed that it was growling at Logan who quietly stared at it. In a swift movement, it transformed into a young lady and focused her attention on the yellow smoke-like dust in fascination.

I was scared but I still went on to call Logan's name.

"Logan," but he didn't respond, rather he walked away and I had no other option but to follow him.

He went around the house without saying a word to me. Was he ignoring me?

"Logan!"

I called his name because I was afraid of going to touch him.

Strangely, I saw a goblin and he went to stand beside it and after a while, they spoke.

The more I heard them, the more I began to realize something I didn't want to accept.

When he entered the house and the goblin couldn't, I quickly hurried after him and when I went past the goblin and turned to look at it, I noticed it wasn't looking at me. Was I a ghost now? It should've reacted.

Pushing that aside, I hurried after Logan and I noticed how confused he was but the more I watched him, the more I saw a calm guy. He looked so innocent.

In silence I followed him while making sure to create a good distance between us. Soon, we got to the basement and my heart began to race when I started putting the pieces together.

Was this how he included himself in our game?

My eyes went wide as I followed him until he stopped and observed us.

When I looked at our group, my eyes went straight to where I sat and I was wearing the exact thing I was currently wearing.

After a while, he moved and I was about to follow when something or someone held me back, causing me to slowly face whatever it was in fear.

When my eyes landed on the person, I stilled. It was Logan.

Confused, I looked forward and found another Logan walking towards us as we played the box game.

"That's us, a day ago," he affirmed my thoughts and came to stand beside me.

"W-why? Why am I here?" I asked and tried to move but couldn't. It was like my feet got glued to the ground.

"You're here to witness everything from the scratch, Frances. That's what I faced to get here," he revealed without looking at me.

My eyes were wide open as I kept staring at him until he faced me. He was pale looking and I could feel so much cold emanating from his body, causing me to shiver slightly.

Without having an option, I looked ahead and watched everything that happened that day.
