Coma For Six Months (Transferred to Los Angeles for her safety.)

"You know I hate being cheated, right? Now you've cheated me, and you will have to face the consequences," Jackson said while Mr. Everett looked nervous hearing him say that.

Jackson burst out laughing mockingly.

"Hahaha, look at your face right now, Mr. Everett. Oh, come on, don't be scared; I will be nice and only give you some time to look for her, or you can pay off all the debt. Not doing so would mean I have no mercy," Jackson said, looking serious with his cold expression. This time, he looked so scary when he was being serious and had that cold expression.

"Don't worry, Mr. Jackson; I will get her back for you. Please give me time to look for her," Mr. Everett said, while Jackson just smirked coldly before standing up to leave.

After Jackson left, Mr. Everett let out a deep sigh.

"We need to find her, or I will have to pay so much to be free from this cold young man," Mr. Everett thought coldly while he walked back into the house where his wife was waiting for him.

"What do you want to do now? I mean, we need to find her and sort out the issues with this young man. You know how ruthless he can be when he doesn't get what he wants," Mrs. Everett said softly to her husband, who looked restless.

"I don't want to talk about this right now," Mr. Everett said frustratedly and left the living room, climbing the stairs to the master bedroom.

"What did you find out about her?" a young cold man said while sitting in his office chair.

"Her name is Ava Everett, but according to the information I got, she was being chased by those men I encountered in the hospital earlier. This is all I learned about her for now," the man in the suit said, standing and reporting the information he had collected that his boss had ordered him to get about Ava.

"So are you saying the operation was successful but she is in a coma?" the young man asked coldly.

"Yes, boss. The doctor made it clear that they don't know when she will wake up, but they will try their best to make sure she wakes up again," the man who seemed like the assistant said while explaining Ava's medical reports.

"She must be really injured. Well, I'm going to Los Angeles for a stay of a few months, so I should take her there while she receives her medication. I'm certain those people will come back; they can be harmful to her," the young cold man said while he stood up, grabbing his suit.

"Okay, boss; I will make arrangements for her to leave with us," the assistant said as he left his boss's office.

The young man walked out of his office to attend a board meeting.

This young man's name is Jeffrey Walton. He is 27 years old, and one of the youngest billionaires in the USA.

He is everything: handsome but cold, kind yet ruthless. A mafia boss but not engaged in any illegal activities.

He is cold to everyone, even to his parents, but there is a soft place in his heart too, though he hates to show it.

He hates being weak. He is feared by everyone, including other mafias like him. Weak ones can never stand up to him, and the strong ones need to be even stronger to do so.

He has many companies under him. At a young age, he has been working hard to reach the heights where most older businessmen have never set foot.

He didn't know why, but he knew that the lady whom they had hit with his car must be running from danger, and those men claiming to be her father's men must be dangerous to her, which is why he didn't want to trust them.

He didn't know what he was feeling or why, but part of him not only wanted to save the lady from earlier but also wanted to protect her from those people.

Thinking about the matter, he shook his head.

"Whatever," he thought as he left for the meeting.

Some months later…..

Ava was transferred to one of the biggest hospitals in Los Angeles. She was still in a coma, but with the help of the doctors there, she came back to life.

It had been six months now since Ava was in a coma, but one wonderful afternoon;

One of the nurses in charge of her was cleaning her when the nurse saw Ava's finger move, and then her body began to twitch on the bed where she was lying.

The nurse couldn't waste time, so she fled out to call the doctor.

The nurse returned with the doctor, and he walked to the bed. They started giving her some injections until Ava's body relaxed.

The doctor checked her pulse, and just then, Ava opened her eyes.

At first, everything was blurry to her. The doctor noticed her and checked her eyes before he spoke:

"Miss, can you see us?" the doctor said, while Ava could only look around after everything became clear to her.

"Where am I?" her weak voice came out in a whisper.

"Relax, Miss; you're in the hospital. You will be fine; rest assured," the doctor said, while Ava could only stare and didn't move on the bed where she was lying.

The doctor gave her one more injection, making her fall asleep. This time, the injection was just to make her sleep temporarily so she could wake up feeling better, and then they could examine her and run some tests to know what else they should do to help her health recover.

—In the evening—

Jeffrey was called to the hospital about the patient waking up from her coma.

He arrived at the hospital and walked into the ward where the patient was being treated.

The doctor and two nurses were there, and the doctor greeted him:

"Hello, Mr. Walton; it's good you are here. The patient is fine now, but she can't remember some of her memories for now. I'm certain it's just temporary memory loss, as we ran some tests on that. She should be fine while she stays in the hospital for a week for treatment," the doctor said softly and politely.

"Thank you, doctor, but when will her memory return?" Jeffrey Walton asked softly, though a hint of coldness was in his voice.

"In weeks or a month, she should regain her memory. By then, she will be fine to remember everything," the doctor said, while Jeffrey just nodded his head.

Then the doctor left with the nurses, leaving the patient and Jeffrey alone.

Jeffrey turned to the bed and looked down at the person who was lying there and staring at him as well.

"Hey there," Ava's voice was soft and warm.

Jeffrey only stared and didn't say a word while Ava spoke again.

"I know you must have brought me to the hospital, but can I know what happened to me? I don't remember what happened to me at all," her soft voice said again, which made Jeffrey feel he could no longer remain mute.

"My car hit you while you were running from some people, but don't worry about that for now; just focus on your recovery and when you can recall everything that happened to you," Jeffrey said softly, and as usual, his voice held coldness.

Ava didn't say a word but nodded as she tried to sit up.

"Hey, you shouldn't try to sit up just yet. Remain in bed and call the nurses I have in charge of you whenever you need anything," Jeffrey said coldly, with a serious look, and made her lay back on the bed.

"I'm sorry, but I'm hungry," her tiny soft voice said.

Jeffrey understood that.

"You were in a coma for six months; it's understandable if you feel hungry," Jeffrey said, causing Ava to look shocked.

"Six months? You mean I just woke up today?" she asked calmly while Jeffrey nodded his head.

"You are fine now. You just need to recover. Stay in bed while I let the doctor know you're hungry. I'll send someone to get you food," Jeffrey said and turned to leave, but he stopped in his tracks when he heard Ava say:

"What about you?" she asked, while Jeffrey frowned.

"I'm busy, and I have no time for this," he said coldly and left to see the doctor.

After an hour;

A meal was brought to Ava by Jeffrey's assistant.

"Hey, Miss, here is your food, but wait; let me call one of the nurses to assist you," the man in a suit said, while Ava stopped him.

"No, don't worry about calling them; I think I can just eat by myself," she said.

"I should call the nurses to see you first before you eat, and you need their assistance because you're not strong enough to do anything for yourself right now," the assistant said while Ava spoke again.

"Okay. But may I know who you are?" Ava asked calmly, her voice still weak.

"I'm Mark, Mr. Jeffrey's assistant. You may not know, but the man from earlier, about an hour ago, who came to check on you is Mr. Jeffrey Walton, my boss," Mark, the assistant, said, looking serious but calm.

Ava nodded her head in understanding.

"Okay, thank you," she said.
