He pulled me into a secluded area and shut the entrance behind us.
Ryan blocked the exit, preventing my departure as he questioned me.
"Mia, congratulations!
"So you stubbornly disregarded our agreement and enrolled in a Florida university by yourself?"
I raised my gaze.
Summoning my resolve, I faced him.
"I have my own aspirations. Why should I plan my future based on your wishes?"
"Ryan, be honest with yourself. Is it really the broken promise that upsets you, or the fact that I won't be your convenient bedmate anymore?"
Ryan's complexion drained.
"What are you implying?"
"Please don't say such unpleasant things.
"We're both grown now. That incident... wasn't it mutual? Are you still fixated on that evening?"
Feeling slightly awkward, I maintained eye contact defiantly.
"Ryan, if you have feelings for someone else, just admit it. I won't desperately cling to you.
"But you clearly don't care for me, yet you watched me pursue you relentlessly. Did that boost your ego?"
