Ji-hoon sauntered into the opulent sitting room of the Cha Family's residence, his flip-flops making a lazy slap-slap sound against the polished, dark marble floors. His mother stood by a Chinese-style marble mural in the centre of the room – next to the black metal sculpture of a slender human figure nearby – her back towards him.
Si-woo was by her side – his hands crossed to his back – and he appeared to be listening to whatever it was that she told him. As soon as Ji-hoon entered, he bowed to her. Leaving, he acknowledged Ji-hoon in a silent salute before he exiting the room.
Ji-hoon stood where he was, watching his mother contemplate the mural in silence for a long minute. Then, he proceeded to break the silence.
"Are you okay?" He finally asked, sliding his hands into the pockets of the cotton, drawstring pants he wore below his tawny cashmere cardigan.
