Chapter 6 - Entrance exam (2)

Adam Armswell, a Class five officer. In the novel, he held the rank of Colonel.

And he was going to the principal of the academy for the next three years.

Just looking at him sparked a flicker of anger within me.

Why?

Because he was the one who'd taken in the protagonist, a Fantasian, and pulled strings to get him into the academy through a recommendation spot.

And then the protagonist ended up becoming a menace and a thorn in Terra's side when he awakened his mana core.

Haaa. What a fool.

Adam raised his hand, and a holographic interface flickered to life around his wrist.

With a swift gesture, he dispatched a swarm of tiny, drone-like devices that zipped through the air, each one deploying a sleek, orange-glowing cuff that hovered momentarily before descending to a stop in front of each student.

Adam's voice echoed through the space, "These cuffs contain your exam instructions. Put them on."

Everyone in the hall listened and reached for the cuffs.

As soon as I touched the cuff, it molded itself to my wrist, emitting a soft, golden glow that quickly dimmed.

I felt a subtle hum of energy as the cuff synced with my biometrics.

I glanced down at the sleek, metallic band now wrapped around my wrist, its surface etched with fine, circuit-like patterns.

I then looked at the watch on my other wrist. 'Seems like it works almost the same way as this watch'.

I then looked around, seeing that most of the youths here had put it on. I then heard, Adam address us.

"Now you are about to undergo the exam. I advise you to try your best, as you are aware that the academy only accepts one hundred from the exam".

Huuu. Okay.

"Good luck ". Adam said as a huge airship descended from the sky behind him.

The airship dropped down from the sky, landing about twenty meters away from where we were.

The hatch slid open, and a lone figure stepped out into the bright light. Adam's voice cut through the air, "That's your ride to the exam location."

I looked at the ship and man it was huge. It was probably twice the size of a skyscraper. No it should be even more than that.

We then all began moving towards the ship. The figure, a man, that emerged from the ship stood in front of us.

He had black hair and black eyes with a scar on his face.

He directed us inside the ship. One by one we entered. When it was almost my turn, I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I spun around, and my eyes landed on a girl around my age, sixteen, with striking blue hair and piercing black eyes.

She was stunning - on par with Elizabeth Bathory, and that was saying something.

"Hey Nate. Glad you made it on time". She said, paused and then added.

"At least more on time than usual anyway".

I knew who she was, not from memories obviously. I hadn't received any yet.

But I knew from the novel. She was one of the few characters who was part of the main cast that was from Terra.

She was Natasha Denoir from the Denoir house. And she was one of the heroines of the novel.
