National Institute of Talents

Two days passed, and the morning of Avasyu's departure finally arrived. He got ready, packed his belongings, and stepped into the same vehicle that had first brought him here.

At the front gate, the chief stood waiting, a proud yet stern expression on his face.

"This is a big opportunity for you," the chief said. "Make the most of it. Don't mess it up."

He gave Avasyu a firm nod before waving. "Take care, kid. Goodbye."

Avasyu sat in the vehicle, watching as the chief grew smaller in the distance. He waved back. "Goodbye."

Beside him sat his luggage and the letter of recommendation, the key to his new life. His guard was with him as always, watching him with a knowing smirk.

"Nervous?" the guard asked.

Avasyu shook his head. "Curious. I wonder what it'll be like there."

The guard raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What are you expecting?"

Avasyu leaned back against the seat. "The chief said there are people like me there. I want to see their powers."

He turned to the guard with a mischievous grin. "How many people with superpowers have you met, Mr. Guard?"

The guard chuckled. "Met? None. But I've seen them. The strongest ones fight monsters and protect this country every day."

Avasyu's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Have you ever fought a monster before?"

The guard shook his head. "Nope. Never had to."

Avasyu smirked. "Ohhh, I see. The monsters must've thought you weren't strong enough, so they never bothered attacking you."

The guard scoffed, clearly offended. "Excuse me? I could take down a monster even without powers. Don't underestimate me, kid."

Avasyu chuckled, leaning back with a teasing grin. "Sure, sure. You're soooo strong."

The guard rolled his eyes but couldn't hide his smile. The journey continued, and with it, Avasyu's excitement for the unknown ahead.

After a two-hour journey, they finally arrived at the academy.

Throughout the ride, Avasyu had been glued to the window, taking in the breathtaking view of the city.

Towering skyscrapers gleamed under the sunlight, their glass facades reflecting the vibrant energy of the streets below. The city was alive, crowds of people moved through busy sidewalks, and a steady stream of vehicles flowed effortlessly on the roads, a testament to the city's efficient transport system.

But now, the journey had come to an end.

The academy stood before them, its presence commanding. A massive, grand structure with an imposing central building that towered over everything else.

Avasyu stepped out of the vehicle, his feet landing on the solid ground of his new future. His guard followed, standing beside him as they approached the academy's front gate.

There, security guards stood at attention, their sharp eyes scanning every arrival. Just beyond them, a woman in her 30s awaited their arrival. She was dressed professionally, wearing a tailored waistcoat over a crisp, white full-sleeved shirt, the sleeves neatly half-folded. A navy blue tie completed her sharp look.

As they neared, the woman gave a polite bow.

"Welcome to the National Institute of Talents," she greeted, her voice composed yet warm. "The headmaster has already spoken with the chief of the Central Observation Home of the Juvenile Justice Board."

" I am the headmaster's personal assistant, and I'm here to officially welcome you to our academy."

She extended her hand slightly. "If you're ready, I would like to collect your letter of recommendation."

Avasyu blinked before quickly reaching into his pocket. "Oh! Yeah, here it is."

He handed her the letter. She took it with a brief glance before carefully tucking it into her pocket.

"Thank you," she said with a nod. Then, with a slight gesture, she invited them forward. "Now, if you'll follow me, I'll take you on a tour of the academy."

Avasyu glanced at his guard, who gave him a reassuring nod. Taking a deep breath, he stepped forward, ready to explore the place that would soon become his new world.

The woman walked beside them, politely explaining as they moved through the grand entrance.

"This academy is situated in the heart of Bhubaneswar," she began. "It serves as a hub for talent, not just from the city or the state, but from across the entire country."

Avasyu listened intently, his eyes scanning the vast surroundings.

The academy was truly massive. The road leading to the main building stretched at least a kilometer from the front gate, lined on both sides with lush gardens and beautifully maintained parks.

Scattered throughout the greenery, students engaged in various activities. Some were playing, their laughter echoing through the open space. Others sat with books, deeply focused on their studies. Small groups huddled together in animated discussions, while a few simply strolled along the pathways, lost in thought.

The academy felt alive.

"We have a total of 5,000 students from all across the country," the woman continued.

As they finally approached the main building, Avasyu took in its sheer size. It was an architectural marvel, standing tall at 25 floors, with four large buildings flanking its sides. The entire structure exuded an air of prestige and authority.

Standing before it, Avasyu felt something stir inside him. Excitement. Anticipation.

She gestured toward the towering building in the center. "This is where you'll attend your classes," she explained before shifting her hand to the right. "And this is where you'll be staying."

Avasyu followed her gaze to a sleek, modern building that stood adjacent to the main academic hall.

"For today, I'll show you your room first. Tomorrow, I'll personally give you a full tour of the academy," she added with a polite smile.

With that, she led them toward the rightmost building.

As they reached the entrance, Avasyu noticed a sign above the doorway:

"Hostel-S"

"This is the hostel for specially gifted students. From today, this will be your home," the woman announced as she stepped inside.

The interior was cool, air-conditioned, and designed with a mix of elegance and practicality. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels lined the walls, allowing natural light to filter in. Directly ahead stood a grand staircase that ascended to the first floor before splitting in two, curling upward toward the second. The entire building extended up to twelve floors.

Avasyu and his guard followed her down a quiet hallway until they stopped in front of a door.

With a click, she turned the key and pushed it open.

Inside was a modest yet well-furnished single-occupancy room. A neatly made bed rested against the far wall with a window on it's side, accompanied by a sturdy wooden cupboard for storage. The space was clean, minimalist, and devoid of any personal touch, waiting to be claimed.

Avasyu stepped inside, taking in the place he would now call home.
