Chapter 131: The Bridge Named Ino
Did I enter the wrong way? Definitely not!
The Yamanaka clan's Mind Body Switch Technique originates from the Sage of Six Paths. The only issue is whether it hits the target or not; there's no such thing as targeting the wrong person.
Naruto must be nearby, but he's been hidden by certain "individuals."
Does Kurama count as a "god"? There are too many gazes inside Naruto, and Kurama is just a tad stronger than the other tailed beasts. The fact that Gold and Silver Brothers could eat Kurama's flesh proves that he has a physical form and isn't just a pure spirit. Ino didn't dare use the "Mind Disturbance God Technique." Besides, without a physical body providing a steady stream of chakra, the tiny amount of chakra she brought with the "Mind Body Switch Technique" wouldn't be enough to perform a technique requiring seventy hand seals.
If Naruto's body didn't have all those messy "individuals," she could have used her foreknowledge to bluff Kurama a bit. The problem is, there are too many "people" inside now, and she couldn't explain how she knew so much.
Ino had no choice but to search bit by bit.
Naruto's inner world was much larger than that of a normal person. She followed the water pipes forward.
As she walked, a downward-sloping staircase suddenly appeared in her line of sight.
She glanced down and saw that it was pitch black, seemingly bottomless.
She felt a chill. Wow, Naruto's inner world has a staircase? I don't remember this from the original story.
Twice, she tried to bypass this eerie staircase, but a voice deep within kept calling her, urging her to go down.
"Brother, you've grown so weak? Come down, I've been waiting for you for a long time." Just as she hesitated for the third time, a clear voice rang in her ears.
Brother? Ino looked around. Who is this voice talking to?
Considering a certain possibility, she fell silent. Numerous thoughts collided in her mind, and finally, she steeled herself and slowly stepped onto the staircase.
She descended for what felt like an eternity, eventually arriving in a completely dark space.
This place resembled where she had once seen Indra, though that memory was now lost.
She could feel a liquid slowly flowing beneath her feet. When she stepped on it, the water reached about ankle height.
There wasn't a single ray of light in this world, but Ino could sense her own presence.
Directly ahead, a man sat with his back to her.
Hearing her footsteps, the man slowly turned his head: "Brother, you've finally"
When he saw Ino's face, his expression instantly turned to one of shock.
"You? Who are you?" he asked blankly. The elegant aura around him quickly dissipated. Seeing Ino frown at him, the man suddenly acted like a monkey, shading his eyes with his hand and peering behind her, exuding a goofy vibe.
The man wore an ancient white robe with six black magatama symbols at the collar. He had neat chestnut-colored short hair and bright eyes, though his expression was now flustered.
"Senior?" Ino felt the term was too casual and quickly changed it: "Sage? Are you a sage?"
The man scratched his head: "How did this happen? Brother turned into a woman? I don't even know how to start my opening lines now... Oh, it seems I've mistaken you for someone else. What should I do?"
His expressions shifted rapidly, transitioning from excitement, confusion, disbelief, to self-pity in the blink of an eye.
Ino stared at him intently, making him uncomfortable.
The man smiled awkwardly: "Uh... could you pretend you didn't see me? Ah, I guess that's not possible..."
He trailed off, then put on a fierce expression: "Since you've discovered me, I have no choice but to... Ah, forget it, you're so young... Never mind, I won't scare you. I'll tell you the truth, hahaha"
The man laughed heartily.
Ino played along: "Sage, please go ahead. I'm listening."
The man was none other than the ancestor of the Senju and Uzumaki clans, the second son of the Sage of Six Paths, Indra's younger brother, and the successor of the ninja sect after the Sage of Six Paths Asura.
Asura was simple-minded but not foolish. He didn't mention his true identity things like being a chakra reincarnation or the son of the Sage of Six Paths. He only said he was the ancestor of the Senju and Uzumaki clans, and that he had left a tiny amount of chakra in their bloodline out of concern that his descendants might go astray. His true self had long since passed away.
Ino didn't expose him, instead drawing out her words: "Oh so you're not a sage. I'll just call you senior then. The current head of the Senju clan's main family is my teacher. Senior, what a coincidence, we're connected!"
It's not every day you meet a master. It'd be a waste not to ask for some benefits.
Asura rolled his eyes: "You're a descendant of the Yamanaka clan, right? I knew your ancestor. You have the same tone when trying to gain advantages."
Ino: "..."
This was awkward. It seems her ancestor's reputation wasn't great. How embarrassing!
She quickly changed the subject: "Senior, who were you referring to as 'brother' earlier?"
Asura froze, staring blankly at Ino. Right, who was his brother? How should he continue this lie?
Asura's talent was relatively low but only when compared to Indra. As the second son of the Sage of Six Paths, his abilities far surpassed those of modern shinobi.
He was clever and wise, but after countless reincarnations through the Senju and Uzumaki bloodlines, time had become a blur. Still, he knew a bit about the outside world.
At the very least, he knew about the conflict between Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha.
He decided to tell part of the truth: "Ahem, actually, the Senju and Uchiha clans once shared a common ancestor. My brother was the ancestor of the Uchiha clan. Do you have Uchiha blood? Looking closely, you don't seem to..."
He scrutinized Ino and concluded that this Yamanaka descendant shared the same flaw as her ancestor hoarding treasures, useful or not. It seemed she had somehow managed to scrape a bit of chakra from his brother.
That tiny bit of chakra had misled him into thinking his brother was on the verge of disappearing, prompting him to rush out, only to realize he'd mistaken her for someone else.
Originally, he had intended to continue his struggle with Indra until his older brother acknowledged his ideals.
But now, the shinobi world had been drenched in blood and tears because of their conflict, which went against Asura's original intentions. He felt guilty but was powerless to stop this fate.
Ino's appearance gave him a glimpse of another possibility.
In a flash, he felt he understood the deeper meaning behind his father, the Sage of Six Paths, teaching the Yamanaka clan the "bridge" technique. Was this a bridge to connect him and Indra?
"Child of the Yamanaka clan, can you deliver a message to my brother for me?"
