"What is wrong with Heskirte?" Arin asked Aedric, his tone demanding. "Why did your face turn pale? Tell us whatever you know about the village!"

"As you wish, my lord," Aedric replied, wiping his face with a silk handkerchief. "Heskirte is a village situated south of Siterion, bordering the Darkwood. Though it lies within the Drihan Empire, being on the outskirts and a very small village, it is not closely monitored. The village is relatively self-sufficient."

"However, my lord, there have been numerous instances where travelers and merchants have gone missing around the village. It doesn't happen to every merchant or traveler. Many have visited multiple times and merely describe the village as unsettling, with unfriendly residents. The villagers do not interact with other cities and occasionally, one or two traders go, exchange goods, and return."
