Kael gripped the sword tightly. Gulping a mouthful of saliva, he stared at the monster a few meters away from him with mixed emotions.
For one thing he felt awe, and for another, he felt fear.
The monster was as tall as a child and with a body of one. Its face, though, looked horrifying with sharp teeth and slitted eyes that glared fiercely at him. It has pointy ears and an elongated skull that added to its alien-like appearance.
Along with its green skin, the monster looked as though it came out of a child's nightmare.
As Kael stared intently at the monster, a holographic screen popped up in front of his eyes.
Grade: Common Level: 1 Droppable Materials: Fierce Goblin Ear(Common), Fierce Goblin Gallbladder(Common), Fierce Goblin Tooth(Uncommon) Fierce Goblin Claw (Uncommon), Fierce Goblin Blood(Uncommon) Fierce Goblin Blood Essence (Rare)> 'Another effect of my talent?' Kael thought upon seeing the list of droppable items just below the monster's name. According to Vivian, only the names and levels of the monster are shown above their head. Kael could also see the same thing, but this separate screen was clearly the effect of the Collector's Eye. The next moment, the Fierce Goblin shrieked loudly and dashed toward him with open arms. Its thin arms were raised above its head, the glistening claws threatening to rip him apart. Having experienced a lot of fights in the dumping site, Kael did not panic and instead raised his Ordinary Sword, preparing for a fight. The Fierce Goblin's height could only reach up to his knees. Its reach was not long, and before it could launch an attack toward him, Kael had already swung the sharp edge of the sword toward it with a lot of force. Swoosh! It was a simple action, but it was also executed splendidly. The Fierce Goblin's arm, along with its neck was sharply cut, almost in an instant. The battle was brief, but Kael's heart raced like a galloping horse. As the Fierce Goblin's dead body dropped to the ground, it exploded into a kaleidoscope of lights before disappearing. On the same spot, an array of items exploded out of the disappearing Fierce Goblin corpse. Kael's eyes lit up upon seeing the scene. Before he could inspect, the items disappeared in front of his eyes. At the same time, a holographic screen popped up at the corner of his eyes. Kael ignored the experience acquisition and focused on the items in astonishment. "Aren't all these the droppable items listed earlier? Is this the first blood luck?" Even though he was not a gamer, Kael still knew of the fact that not all droppable items would drop upon a monster's death. Vivian also mentioned that each material has their own drop rate percentage, where the rarer the material, the less likely it was to drop after a monster's death. For him to have gained all the materials upon the Fierce Goblin's death, even including the Rare material, Fierce Goblin Blood Essence, Kael could only attribute it to a beginner's luck or the first blood luck. He had heard of his classmates speaking about this before. He did not expect that he would experience it firsthand upon playing the game New Infinite. "Too bad I could no longer craft items," Kael grumbled in regret. This Fierce Goblin Blood Essence should be able to net him a good crafted item that he could sell, right? "Right, my Collector Talent has another effect of being able to see the material's details. I'll take a look at the details of the items I collected first before proceeding forward to Enrio." Kael muttered inventory and looked at the items stored inside of it. The used slots confused Kael as it did not match to the number of items he gained earlier. However, upon inspection, he realized that some of the materials were stored in batches and not by piece like the Fierce Goblin Ear, Fierce Goblin Claw and the Fierce Goblin Blood. "Is it related to their size, weight and rarity?" Kael came up to this conclusion almost immediately. Vivian had not mentioned this to him before, she must have forgotten or had not expected for him to gather this much material on his first day. Kael stared at each of the materials before their information showed up in front of his eyes. According to Vivian, only after a player gains the appraiser skill would they be able to see the information of the materials clearly unless one had direct knowledge about it.
