Chapter 5

I opened the speaker, and I clearly saw the assistant next to me twitch at the corner of her mouth and mutter "idiot" under her breath.

I, however, remained extremely calm.

I simply asked coolly in response, "Is there a problem with me freezing my own card?"

"Alec, we're already divorced."

"The property division isn't finished yet. Half of your stuff is still mine right now!" Alec growled in a low voice. "Don't think you can use this method to keep me. We agreed that once the divorce cooling-off period is over, we must get divorced!"

I couldn't help but laugh humorlessly.

How could he think this was my attempt to use money to keep him?

I couldn't be bothered to argue with him anymore.

I hung up the phone directly and promptly blocked his number.

Beside me, the assistant handed over a stack of paper resumes.

Impressive credentials, completely out of league with Alec's ordinary bachelor's degree.

And I actually let him serve as the sales manager of my company for four years.
