Learning things about one self

"So what exactly are your powers or whatever you have?" Sona asked me as we both sat on bean bags next to each other in front of the TV while GCN went over the stuff from last night again, but this time with more detail.

"Healing," I told her as I was drawing in my sketchbook, designing some necklaces, rings, and bracelets for Sona, Veronica, and Sophie. The jewelry was to protect them. Like, I was going to make the necklaces to protect their minds from anything, but I just needed to know what to make them out of and find a place to make them. Now, the Essence of the Crafter gave me the instincts and the recipe to make things, but I might fuck it up the first time because I have no experience in making stuff. Oh, fun fact—I learned that I know how to make runes in things, like sewing them into clothes, so I will be doing that once I make a costume for myself. How did I learn that I can do runes? Because I was subconsciously drawing them when I was designing the jewelry, so that is really good for me.

"And what else? Because normal humans don't run that fast or jump that high, so what else you got?" she asked me as a GCN reporter said they assumed I had healing abilities, given that I was the only reason only five people died last night—if I wasn't there, more would have died.

"I'm not going to answer that," I said to her as I took a sip of the coffee I made. It had caramel, milk, and some sugar.

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to."

"You are so boring," she said as she got off her bean bag, sat on the same bean bag as me, and cuddled up with me. "What are these for?" she asked about the designs I was drawing.

"I am planning on making jewelry for you, Sophie, and Veronica as a sorry gift," I said to her, which was kind of the truth because it was a gift in a way, but not exactly a sorry gift.

"How kind of you to make something for us," she said to me as she messed with my hair. Then she added, "Anyway, just make sure my stuff is black and red, and I mean like blood red."

"Got it," I said to her as I wrote it down on her design page. Now I had some ideas for it.

The only thing I was really missing was something to power the runes, like a mana stone or gem. I could conjure it, but I needed to know what mana felt like, actually, because I needed to know how much I wanted in it. Therefore, I needed to know how mana felt, which was kind of a downside for now until I learned how to use or at least sense mana.

And I was planning on maybe making a tattoo gun so I could have runes on my body to help me or make me stronger, but that was more of a "maybe" idea.

So I did know some magic spells and backward magic for healing, but backward magic felt straight-up like reality warping due to how it worked because it was like forcing my intent and will onto the world. Plus, I was pretty sure that—no, wait—I hadn't used my scanning ability on myself yet.

So I took a deep breath because of how dumb I was and put my hand on my chest. Then I used it at full force so I could see everything.

I started with some basic info. I was 5'10" in height, I weighed 209 pounds, about 25% of that was just fat, I had really strong bones, I healed in half the time of a normal human, I had muscles that were a little bit denser than normal, and I should live for about 10,000 years due to the Essence of Healer and TEN. That was some of the basic info, and I would not be going into more detail for the basics because I doubted that I needed to know my dick size or stuff like that.

Now, I was going to go into detail about other stuff. I did have the metagene, but it was not unlocked yet. I was not a Homo Magi. I had three energies—one was life force, or Nen if you wanted to call it that, one was my healing energy, and the last one was mana. So I did have mana; I just needed to learn how to control it or at least sense it in myself to conjure the mana stone or gem for the stuff I wanted to make for the girls. Anyway, it should maybe take me a couple of hours at least to be able to sense or control it, if you took into account that it only took me 3 days, 4 hours, and 29 minutes to unlock my Nen. And from what I saw, my body was never really made to use Nen, yet my body adapted to use it, and it was because of the Essence of Blank. Anyway, the energies were like pools of different sizes.

So I thought if I learned other energies, my body would adapt to them and create a pool of that energy.

Now I was going to talk about my soul and mind. My soul was... kind of hard to explain. Like, it was very strong and protected, yet it was small at the moment due to my age. It had five colors. The main color was a fiery, blood-like red that moved like fire, and it was a beautiful color. It had lines of gold, black, and white with one brown dot. The gold, black, white, and brown were what I was going to assume were the Essences that I drank, so they were part of my very soul, meaning that I must die to lose the Essences. Now, my mind was like a wall that went on forever with only one door that needed permission to open.

"-ray, you good?" Sona said to me as she poked my face to get my attention.

"Yeah, I am. Why?" I asked her as I shook my head a little bit to get out of that little trance I was in.

"Cause you paused for a few seconds after you put your hand on your chest," she said to me as she put her palm on my forehead to see if I was sick—which I wasn't, because I couldn't get sick for anything, but she didn't need to know that yet.

"I'm fine. I was just thinking about something," I said to her as I pushed her hand away from my forehead.

"You? Thinking? That is a funny joke because most of the time, you just do the first thing that comes to your head without thinking that much."

"That is false information."

"Last night."

"...You win for now."

Sona started to laugh at me as she put her legs on my lap to get more comfortable. Then, when she stopped laughing at me, she asked, "So what do you have planned for today?"

"I'm about to meditate for a few hours, then go to the junkyard to get some stuff for free, and then to the hardware store. After that, I'm going to spend the rest of the day making things. Plus, I have to take care of the plants I'm growing—they're almost fully grown. So yeah, I do have a plan for today."

"Since when did you meditate?"

"A few days ago, cause I wanted to. Plus, it helps me with other things, so get off me so I can start meditating," I said to her as I pushed her legs off my lap and got out of the bean bag.
