Betrayal.

As Kira and Mira prepared the bath, I remained seated, listening to the quiet sounds of water being poured into the large tub.

The scent of lavender and chamomile filled the air, soothing yet unfamiliar. It had been a long time since I allowed myself such luxury.

Mira tested the water's temperature with her hand before nodding in approval. "It's ready, Luna."

I stood up, the silk of my nightdress slowly slipping against my skin as I stepped toward the tub.

Kira was already waiting, her usual cheerful expression softer than before. "Let us help you."

I hesitated.

I wasn't used to this—being tended to and cared for. But I nodded, allowing them to do.

Kira unfastened the back of my dress with practiced ease, her movements respectful, never lingering.

Mira gathered my hair, lifting it away from my shoulders as the fabric slipped down my body.
