Similar incidents were not limited to just one company; many others followed suit, just like the major tech company. Domestic firms like Pig Farm, 370, and international companies like Konami and Nintendo, all reached out to the top 50 players. Unfortunately, the outcome for these players was equally dismal. Capital can be ruthless.

One foreign player who fell victim to Konami's tactics had his game deleted and vented his frustration online, directing his anger at both Konami and [New World]. However, he was met with ridicule from netizens:

"I don't mind you criticizing Konami, but why blame [New World]?"

"Exactly, I really don't understand why you're upset with [New World]!"

"All I can say is that [New World] did a great job!"

"Haha, serves you right!"

...

Netizens not only lacked sympathy for the player's experience but openly mocked him. Due to the machinations of several game companies, nearly half of the players had their games tragically deleted in the end. They had no choice but to swallow their pride and move on. That's what happens when you break a promise.

At eight o'clock that evening, Jane, satisfied after dinner, sat down in front of her computer on time. Before her live broadcast even started, the number of viewers in the background had already reached 300,000, and it was still climbing!

"Wow, this is the draw of a new game. With these numbers, it's already comparable to a League of Legends match!" Jane couldn't help but admire the viewer count. She cleared her throat and opened the live broadcast: "Good evening, friends!"

"Don't bother with greetings, just play the game!"

"Yeah, yeah, get to the game already!"

"Hurry up, let's see the new game from [New World]!!!"

...

However, as soon as Jane spoke, her audience mercilessly urged her to start the game. This left Jane a bit deflated. In the past, the audience only criticized her voice, while still appreciating her presence. Now, they even disliked her introduction. She had become a tool, solely for streaming [New World]'s game.

But for big money, these were minor inconveniences.

"Alright, alright, I'll start playing now!" Jane said as she approached the VR platform, donning her VR suit. "I've learned a bit about 'Deep Sea Trek' from the folks at [New World]."

"This game is an underwater open-world adventure set in the future. During an interstellar journey, a human spaceship suddenly crashes. Our astronaut escapes in a pod and ends up on a strange planet covered in water."

"Players must figure out how to survive on this unfamiliar planet. That's about it."

The audience immediately buzzed with discussion:

"Future world? Nice, I love future-themed games!"

"Wait a minute, did I hear 'water'?"

"Oh wow, I thought the game would be set on the sea, but it's actually underwater!"

"Interesting, this is going to be fun!"

...

In past games with ocean themes, stories took place on the sea, but never beneath it. This was something new.

"Alright, let's officially start the game!" Jane said, beginning the game. The screen was initially dark, with a line of text appearing:

[Produced by New World Studio]

The screen then flashed, and Jane's perspective cleared. Suddenly, Jane found herself in a closed, pure white room. Before she could take in her surroundings, the ground beneath her began shaking violently, making it hard to stand.

At the same time, a hurried female voice echoed in her ears: "Warning, warning, the Aurora spacecraft will be forced to land in five seconds. Please take your seats in the escape pod, as the pod will be ejected!"

"Oh my! What's happening?" Jane looked around nervously and soon spotted the safety chair fixed to the wall in front of her. She quickly sat down, and the seatbelts automatically fastened her securely.

"Wow, the seatbelt fastens automatically—very high-tech!" Jane marveled, just as a loud bang echoed in her ears! Suddenly, she felt her room lift, and she experienced intense weightlessness!

"Oh no, I think I'm falling!!!" Jane exclaimed, looking down through the transparent hatch to see a vast blue ocean below. The ocean rapidly approached, as the pod hurtled toward it!

"Ah, I'm really falling!!!" Jane screamed, her heart pounding with fear.

Boom!

A massive explosion echoed, and Jane's vision went black again, accompanied by her helpless and frightened shout: "Oh no!!!"
